I can't remember the last time I've worked a shift and haven't had to restart mine. All of a sudden the screen will start flashing......every fucking night I work. It amazes me that the hospital spends tons of money and can't get a decent PC system. And calling MIS is a waste of time. They usually just ask "Did you reboot?" I just want to scream "I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO REBOOT EVERY SHIFT"

 

Yeah, I reboot when I come in anyway cause the last person usually didn't log off right. Our last computer was giving us some error so they replaced it with a new one and the new one hasn't been updated in ages, it seems. There's a whole list of shit that's "Waiting to Install". Nothing I can do to speed it up either.

 

If I'm getting ready for graveyard tomorrow by staying up all night tonight am I allowed in here?

Yeah, I'm glad I don't have to deal with people too much. I'd probably get real irritated, real fast. I wouldn't mind this computer as much tonight if it had sound, cause then I could watch stuff while it updates. Alas, the sound driver it needs is in one of these updates somewhere and idk which one it is.

You guys been hit hard with the Kung flu? We haven't had any deaths in the hospital in a few weeks. We're starting to get all the dumbasses back in the ER. It was sooooooooooo nice when they were afraid to come in b/c they didn't want to catch it

 

Not too hard to be honest, but it's a military hospital so when the DoD stop-movement order came down, people actually stopped moving which limited the infections among active duty folks in our area. I've only taken care of one COVID pt, though our hospital has had maybe two dozen total.

I work L&D...our triage has been blissfully free of bullshit ("I'm pregnant and my feet hurt') as people have been trying to stay away from the hospital.

 

Did I read this right? This dude wants to swap a panel without a clock(cheaper) for one with a clock(more expensive) and have the guy/gal with the clock pay for shit?
