The Dakars only went in maybe 6 months ago, if they're rusted already, I'm burning the garage down. :bananadead:

But yes. I'll clamp either side of the pack, pull the center bolt, ease off the clamps and then pull the 3rd leaf from the top. Reassemble.

That's what the shop did when I had them make an AAL. I was really hoping they'd pull the pack and loosen up the bolts for me.....but they did it the easy way. Damn efficient mechanics.

I mean 35’s are fun right..... get some damn silicone while you’re at it. Levi knows how bad mine leaked when I bashed in the firewall to fit mine. At one point we had my whole carpet out and seats because so much water had came in through the crack

There’s not much to it. I will say I literally just told Kurt two days ago I wish I hadn’t cut my fenders to fit 35’s and just stuck with 33/34’s but it’s done now and I will say having the 35’s what little bit of 4wd I’ve done recently I feel like I go over normal obstacles much easier. And since you’re already re geared to 4:88 you’re way ahead of me when I did it. I just gotta find the time to get my gears in and have someone there incase shit goes south. Installing my front diff by myself last time was a job especially having to sit it on my chest and bench press it up into place.

I'll say it again, "that front diff can eat a bag of dicks"! Heavy awkward af m'fer!
I luckily did have a second person to help it come out and go back in.

The number one thing that does sorta bother me, is cutting the fenders. That's the commitment in all this, and the difference from 33/34 tires. More or less, the rest is the same, except maybe the pinch weld.
Biggest issue I've seen in closer to 34" size, they get fatter and slim pickins like 255 size. I figure I'd do half the work of 35s to fit 285s anyway, just to get into a 'Joe Blow tire shop in BFE size'. Or I quit being a bitch and get 17" wheels with better BS and offset. :notsure:

There is the option of getting glass like Gideon. I don’t know why I’m bitching about my cut fenders as I got in my truck I remembered oh hey dumbass you already have a 4” in freakin hole in the fender too.

I’ll have to check that because after our last trip I tore some of silicon off. The exterior pinch weld

Now see, I'm leaning toward a snorkel as well. I like glass, but I sincerely feel I'd smash them on a tree or rock.

So...uh...anyone wanna come help cuss at my truck this weekend? I can handle the important stuff solo, it would just suck a lot less with a second set of hands. And I'd get a lot more done, or drink more a beers.

Note: I borrowed some compressors from a guy at work, to build my front shocks to make the swap 'easier'. Started on that yesterday after work. I would get the coils squeezed enough to just barely get the shaft started through the top hat, then the compressors would start to walk. Normally, I'd throw caution to the wind and high center for the helluvit, but it was sketching me out BIG TIME! These new HS coils should get the ol girl's face outta the dirt.
Looks like truck weight method it is, just have to get a real alignment after. Making my life easier and loosening cam bolts, without someone to stand on the LCA, weld up those tabs while I'm in there.

I'll be going from tonight til whenever I get tired of it Sunday.

I've done it that way before, just rather have the assembly built and swap in/out to avoid loosening the cams. When I switched from the first setup (OMEs) to the now worn billys, I didn't touch the cam bolts at all. Simply had someone push down on the LCA.
