I had a 10” JL in my 08’ (DC) with a 5 channel running all four (six with tweeters) door speakers and the sub. I actually miss it and am in the process of going back to something similar. I think two would be too much, but a single gave me a good balance. It was easy to adjust the bass down if it was too much or turn it up if I needed more.

Take an honest look at what you listen to 90% of the time and go from there. If you listen to nothing but rap a single sealed 8 isn't the best choice, just like a ported 15 isn't the ideal candidate for someone who listens to bluegrass most of the day. Dual sealed 10s is doable if you're willing to lose all the storage behind your rear seat. And the right 10" sub paired with the right amp (and box) can damn near play anything you toss at it.

Do you need two? Only you know.

I think I might have too. The box for the 2 10's is only 40$ more than 1 sealed box plus it has a nice place in the middle for the amp. Think I'm going to run 2
    JL Audio 10W0v3-4.
I haven't used the back so far so I'll probably never use it.

I recently went from one 10” to two. The low end was so much more full with less amp gain. Had 8.75 Dyns in the front doors and just squeezed 9.25” Dyns to replace the 8’s.
No. I don’t believe it’s too much, sounds just about right. Plenty of output with no distortion.

No. I've sacrificed at least 2/3 of my xcab (everything removed and rear wall rebuilt) and it's almost enough :D. OK, it's enough, but headroom

I dont have them, but the box is about .5 cubic feet. I used cardboard to make the shapes of the front, the rest of the box is pretty much square.

Lol it was an awesome setup and I ended up getting 2nd place at the Midwest SPL. It was BS i ran 3 times first run 148DB, 2nd run 151DB and in the finals I ran a 149 and the other guy did 150. I was a bit salty after doing a 151 and getting beat by 1 db :bananadead:
