I always thought that stuff was for day traders and not for holding, but I’ve never really looked into it. Little to volatile for my normal investing strategy

Lol. Like I said before. I don't care how much money you've got in. It's all about percentage of profit or loss. You trade 500 bucks and turn it into 750 you've done better then the guy who traded 20000 and tired it into 22000.

It depends on your goals. I don't pay any attention to unrealized gains or losses. I have a lot of numbers on a Spreadsheet that calculate a lot of things, but it's all for 2 goals: maximize and stabilize monthly income.

I have noticed TD slowly doing little stuff like this over the past couple years. Bugs me a lot too cause that's one of the major benefits of a personal brokerage account i manage is that i should be able to do what i want with it no matter how stupid.

Within legal limits, yes. I think there's value to be had in saying "WHOA That option is not kosher" and making sure people know about options trading. That said they might have a resource restraint where putting in a BS limit sale that says "Sell Ford when it reaches 75$ hurr durr" is bogging down their system. But like, bajeebus...10$ on a stock that was at what was it I think 17 6 months ago, come on guys....

    The lord gives his blessing...

    1. You do this to prevent people from shorting your shares...They can't loan out shares to shorts if there are sell orders.
    2. TD Probably wants to loan out as many shares on margin as they can...and they know that's why people do what you did...
    3. SO they do this to make more money by having more shares to loan for margin trades. What you could do is set a multi triggered trade...IF TRTX goes over $10 and then returns to $8 Sell...something like that, it takes more work...or just keep futzing around with it until you find their acceptable trigger point.

The basic difference in principle is UCO is based off oil price/speculation. NRGU is actually based off the share price/performance of actual companies. So it's a more viable long term option as the companies "theoretically" will be around but oil prices can crash and rise dramatically...All ETF have what's called decay...so when they fall multiple days in a row you lose a lot more due to fees and multiplied losses. I see that as the risk you take for that 20x payoff in a year. That's why ETF money is supposed to be your IDGAF gambling money. I'm down almost 40% on SPXS because I was insuring against a bad market...I'm in at $16. Yesterday I debated closing my position as it went from $10 to $11.5 at one point...but no..I'm greedy, that's my insurance stock...

hmmm makes sense. I could probably also just find their ranges, chances are they have those published somewhere. More just a slight annoyance on my end, I can just watch and know my sell limits, etc. but it would be nice to be able to just set it and forget it. Oh well.

Are you short term or long term on TRTX....I'm listening to podcasts out of NYC where they are talking about a mass exodus of businesses as their leases are up...I'm losing confidence in the Commercial real estate being as profitable for quite a while...then again if there are NEW contracts maybe that means more revenue...UGGhh

USO is a piece of garbage compared to what WTI spot prices are doing.. I would be pissed if I was holding USO

does anyone trade JNUG? Kinda looks interesting. Been sorta watching it for a while now. Very volatile but stair stepping upwards pretty majorly.

With all this money printing the gold bugs are surely enjoying the rally lately.

That just reverse split on 4/23 1:10...and 1:5 in 6/2018 So without the splits it's trading at $7 in may of 2018 and $0.20 right now...The upside is created by splits, not by drops...be careful.

yeah, JNUG has been reverse split into oblivion like many other leveraged ETFs usually are, but it's been having a good momentum upwards for the last few weeks

That’s my thought. Bought 200 when it was at 20, I didn’t get in at the lowest, but it would free up some money to invest elsewhere. I might regret it if it climbs to 40, but what is life without regrets
