Had to marshal and load few of these when i was working in Kuwait Last year.
Talk about some loud turbines... not even plugs and muffs would keep the noise out my ears. Had an annoying frequency pitch

Most Russian stuff seems to be at the higher end of the frequency range it seems. even their Mi-17, etc had a little higher and more aggressive note to the rotor whoop.

Picked up my plane from the shop today. My transponder ended up testing strong and the problem was a broken coax cable. Now I have new high-speed coax cables ran for my transponder and glide slope antennas. Happy I didn’t have to spend the $$$ for a transponder exchange. Annual inspection is coming at the end of the month. Praying for no large expenses!

That is about on par with the people assembling the planes talking about the "flappy things on the tail"

Would have been a nicer picture with a blue sky for the background, but given how the day started, just glad to be able to get out for a little flip.

Great picture. I find blue skies to be boring. Would much rather see character. Edit that to make more contrast in the dark clouds and it would look just about ideal for me.
Nice plane too! Once I get my tailwheel, float will be next.

Aaaaand that's going into the work computer background rotation.

There's a Beaver on floats that has been flying out of the lake I live near. I've been seeing it a lot more lately when he's climbing out after takeoff.

I’ll be there tomorrow, but I’ll be out of there well before 3:00. I finally get to go fly the airplane I get paid to fly!

I don’t do a lot of editing. Cropping and tilting is about my limit. Maybe I’ll try giving this one a bit of a treatment. Sometimes google photo does the work for me though. Be careful with the float flying. Very very addictive. I’d say have fun with it, but it’s impossible not to, which would make saying it redundant. Don’t say you haven’t been warned, Lol!

That’s cool! Thank you. I’m quite honoured that you enjoyed my little plane enough to include it in your back ground.

You’re lucky that you get to enjoy the sound of that Beaver. With the boarder closed, quarantine in place after travel, and physical distancing going on, none of the outfitters have put their planes in the water yet. It’s just not summer until I've heard the sound of a 985 echoing down the channel as the Beavers on the takeoff slide.

I managed to snag a picture the other day when he was departing. I take amazing pictures. He flew over again a little while ago. Interestingly, he doesn't show up on any of the flight tracker stuff.

I have a pretty good background picture rotation on my computer at work. I work on ships and start missing things part way through. I like to have it cycle through pictures of things that are more fun than being on the ship.

Quick turn ADS-VNY-ADS today. I've been lucky that each time we fly, the weather has been good. The amount of time between trips right now is not good for proficiency, but not having to deal with weather makes it easier!

Caught them going over our hangar yesterday. Too bad there was quite a bit of haze. Would have been able to get them over downtown.

It was hazy there yesterday. There were some sizable fires burning out to the East that filled the valley with smoky haze

We'll, part of taking amazing photos is being able to recognize the subject matter, and I can definitely tell that's a Beaver on floats. Amphib floats at that. Probably Whipline. The only thing that might sound better than an R985 passing overhead, is a pair of 985's passing overhead. Bee h 18's on floats are becoming a rare sight around here though. Most of them heading to the junk yard with broken spars. Beautiful machine on floats though.

I know what you mean about missing stuff. I'm usually only away for 4 days at a time, 5 max,l. But I have my plane set as my desk top and lock screen. Constant reminder of how much more fun a Champ on floats, or anything on floats for that matter, is to fly than the workhorse that pays the bills.
