I finally have my truck in the garage and on jack stands. Will be working on the power steering rack replacement and suspension swap over the next two weeks or so. I figure since I’ll have the wheels off anyway I’ll throw them in the back of the SUV I’m driving in the meantime and take them and the F5s to discount tire one of these days. Might as well get the new wheels mounted for when the truck is ready to go back on the road!

Besides making sure they use back coning for balancing and obviously stick on weights, anything else I need to monitor or advise during the tire install? I really don’t want them to f*(k up my new wheels...

So Discount Tire scratched 3 out of 4 wheels. The one they didn’t scratch, they forgot to balance and the wheel was vibrating all over the place. Sitting here now while they fix it. I’m so pissed.

It’s my 2wd work truck. I’d roll $1200 and smoke it before I’d smash it into a bunch of rocks. CADB9BC9-FDDC-4088-A9F9-B9E2026DF605.jpg

Did they not make it right? I've heard of them (wheel/tire shops) buying new wheels for customers because of this.

The manager took pictures and said he was gonna reach out to corporate. He is supposed to be calling me sometime today. He was very apologetic and says they will make it right. He offered to send it to a guy to repaint them, but I told him that’s not gonna work.

Dammit I love your truck AND your attitude!! :rasta:

Sucks to see they scratched those wheels up. Some minor nics are almost guaranteed, but that looks like thoughtless rushing.

There's a huge difference between damage caused by the owner in the course of driving the vehicle and damage caused by a third party's negligence.
