way different. putting the wheels back on with a big fat bike laying on the side would be a bitch.

today is the first time we hit 80* for the season and damn does it feel good to ride without that obscene amount of layers on to keep warm

99% of the time I ride alone, so given that chunk of info below is my story for the day...

today i came across two different solo riders pulled off on the side of the road, funny enough both harleys  :boink: lol, so decided to quickly pull off and ask if each was alright

was barreling down the highway when I noticed a solo bike pulled off on the shoulder, guy gave me a quick thumbs up when realizing I was probably pulling over to see if he was alright, then gave me a salute as it was then obvious he was making a phone call so I sped away, pretty sure the guy was stoked its not every day a big harley gives a friendly salute and thumbs up to a squid lol

then not even 3 miles down the road came the second guy with yet again another HD (this one was more a clubstyle and everyone knows I have a real hard on for those things :gossip:)
well this one was obviously pushing his bike on the side of the road so as a I passed him I tried to quickly signal over if he was ok, it was all so quick that I just made a u turn and pulled up along side of him to confirm, turned out he ran out of fuel and was pushing it luckily only another couple hundred yards to the gas station up ahead... again another HD rider that seemed rather shocked and pleasantly surprised that I had stopped to ask if he was in need of assistance...

pulling over to help random strangers is a weird thing, this is a cruel world filled with shitbags and you really never know what lunatic shitbag you're about to approach... I guess sometimes you just gotta do what comes natural and not think about the "what if this is a real shitbag" situation...

this isnt the first time I pull over to help a random person with their car/bike, at it will not be the last.. however I have opted out of pulling over in the past and its weird because really till this day I partially regret some of those times albeit now that years have passed, that shit just sticks with me for some reason.

anyways, june 22nd marks the one year from when I brought her home and now damn near rolling over 2k miles

Anyone here carry reserve fuel on their bike? I have a 1gal RotoPax that i need to build a mount for but there’s even those canteen style reserve bottles you can carry. I’d imagine just like in the truck, if the fuel isn’t helpful to you it might be helpful to someone else.

If I'm going for more than a couple hours I'll usually throw a kriega bag on the tail with my tool roll, compressor (if I'm going off road/FSR and airing down), and this little 1.25L bottle. I did the math once and I think it'd get me like 15 extra miles if needed. Not much, but still something and I have the space.

Depends on the length of ride. On the street, im good about mapping out longer destinations with conservative mpg numbers and wouldn't ever need to carry fuel, and get roughly 140miles per tank out of the 919 before reserve light turns on, and about another 30ish mi before im OUT.

In the dirt on the WR450, if the ride is going to be ANYWHERE close to my typical max range of 90-100 miles (im talking anything over 60 miles) ill bring a couple of 20oz vitamin water bottles filled with gas (they are super thick and have good sealing caps). The dirtbikes aftermarket tank is translucent and i have marked it with half gallon increments on level ground so its easy to see fuel level.

Both are amazing. Just make sure you go the speed limit on the blue ridge parkway.

Typical grom owners... no respect for others. Groms are the civics of motorcycles.

well, it is hard not to be a hooligan on a small bike.

but still, they weren't going near fast enough to need to straighten the curves.
