Don’t you tempt me. I’ve already committed to dying in NC next month.

I just graduated from a school program today, and today is also 5 years cancer free, and it’s my birthday Sunday.

I finally have time to do something fun, I was planning a road trip up towards Santa Cruz and maybe PNW, but Utah also has me thinking.

Got the call a little bit ago that my first FS bike I ordered (Ibis Ripmo V1) will be ready tomorrow afternoon. After about 6 months of "research", stoked is an understatement.

Always ;) Gotta say tho... I'm worried. This thing might make me a convert. Dammit.

Honestly, every person needs to experience southern Utah. It's way more than riding out there, which is absolutely awesome, but the Utah desert is magic. You can't find anything like it anywhere else. If you do come, don't just make it a bike trip. Take the time to explore the parks (Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce), slot canyons, float a river, sleep in the desert, drive some random road, wheel some Jeeps, find some ancient pictographs, take pictures of the Milky Way. It's something that sticks with you for a lifetime.

thank you both. It’s been a long time coming but I’m ready for a road trip or two.

I’m still working full time, I’m petty fortunate. But I’m a paramedic so it can get busy, but working 2 days a week for full time is awesome

Pretty brutal. You'd wanna be done riding by 10am most of the summer.

Went for a ride on my Evil today, but the derailleur gave me trouble, and trail-side "repairs" only made it worse. I had to limp it home as a single speed. Went back out on my fat bike to try and salvage the afternoon.

Then grabbed a beer and rode up to the high point on my land.

Yes! I’ve got video to edit for posting but I didn’t die!

it was scary no lie, but it was smooth. I had a stranger tow me in for a run up to get a gauge for the speed. It required no lift, no really leaning back, or anything. Just some speed and go.

Nice! Towing is preferred for me too haha. Speed is definitely the way to go. Lifting/leaning back is more helpful at slower speeds so you don’t go over the bars. Sometimes you can’t get much speed before hitting a drop haha
