    @MESO @DSRamsey13 @Tacospike

it was the fuse!!! Thanks @DSRamsey13 for mentioning that. Rookie mistake on my part. I’m no electrician/mechanic by any means but I am a DIY’er when I can.
Thanks guys for all the help and MESO for the quick reply. Now I just need to put it all back together.

Awesome. Still would like to know why it blew in the first place though, maybe touched a wire while running it or?

Only thing I can think of is I when I fed the wire thru the boot I dabbed a tiny bit of dish soap so it would be slippery. Maybe it got too wet? I don’t know I’m not electrically knowledgeable. Other than that I’m not sure I did anything to make it blow.

That could be it. Maybe I reconnected the battery too soon.

Yes. It’s the same exact thing as if I were selling it. Sometimes my dealers don’t list stuff right away, and by the time they do.. I’m out.

Awesome, will order a set now! :D

I meant to ask above... Has anyone hooked their puddle lights into either of these? I’m thinking the cab light rocker would make a lot of sense if it could work electrically.

I haven’t seen any posts where someone has tapped into those switches but the V2 lights have a switch designed for it. That’s what I just got and installed. See posts above.

Yes go back to post #4474 on page 224 user chiefjim said he was able to connect the puddle lights to the factory bed light switch. Not sure how he did it but I like the idea of connecting it there

Hood Struts, My version Fogs always ON, Map & Overhead Light Mod,
Easy for the Cargo Lamps switch. You could have the puddles illuminate with Unlock, Lock without a switch but tied to the the Cargo Lamps CIRCUIT. You could also have the puddles in parallel with the Cargo Lamps switch action (Door, ON or OFF)
Not so easy for the Overhead illumination switch.

The reason I was thinking cab lights is because it’d be neat if they would come on with proximity like the cab lights.

Otherwise the cargo lamp switch makes perfect sense. Wonder if I could get proximity activation while still using the cargo lamp switch, hmm...

Test this on your Taco, place the Cargo Lamps switch in Door position. Close the doors, lock. Then test the proximity feature. Have another person do this so you can see the effect...Tell us what you see looking at the Cargo Lamps. :D

    Okay, just for grins... :D

Cargo Lamps in Door position. Doors closed and locked. Everything off.

My helper walks up to the door without touching anything, and the interior Cab Lights magically fade on.... but the Cargo Lamps do nothing. :annoyed:

My helper opens the door, and the Cargo Lamp turns on.

I want the puddle pods to work like the Cab Lights when the Cargo Lamp switch is in the Door position, not like the Cargo lights.

Sounds like this might take some fancy electrical work :welder: (or just use MESO's rocker)

Can the puddle pods even fade on like the Cab Lights?
