friday thread: parking etiquette

OP I would share your frustration with this 100%. I would pull my truck up even closer so it’s about an inch from her bumper every time she parks so her trunk is inaccessible and she will slowly think she is losing her mind. Obviously don’t let her see you.

So I recently moved to a much-too-small neighborhood and my truck doesn't fit in the garage so I have to park on the street. The streets are pretty small and the way it's laid out is that the houses on one side of the street have driveways, but no parking on the street, and the other side of the street (that I live on) has no driveways, but street parking.

So, the villain of my story lives on the "driveways" side, but has 3 vehicles, including his truck. He keeps 2 in his driveway, and parks his truck in front of my house. This spot is on the end of the street, so nobody parks in front of him, and I usually just park behind him (or further down the street).

Now, anytime he takes his truck out, the villain has his wife move her car out of his driveway, and into the spot in front of my house, to hold the spot for him when he gets back.

Lately it seems like his wife backs up pretty close to my truck, presumably to make sure nobody pulls up so far that his truck wont fit in when he gets back.

I put the question to the court of TW3G, is this "too close"?

exactly. I look out of my window like every 30 minutes looking for the mailman and the ups guy, I don’t want to be disappointed not to see the delivery showing up and then be more disappointed about seeing your POS Saturn Ion sitting in the street in front of my window.

I had to look it up... It is now the SDCCU Stadium. I moved away shortly after it was renamed Qualcomm. I miss the weather, not the millions of other people that live there.

that coastal city weather can't be beat as well, 75 all day everyday

I feel as in front of my house is my space. I know legally anyone can park on the street but I won’t have any of it. I’m actually shortening my front yard by 8ish ft and going to lay down 57 rock so that way my vehicles aren’t in the road but in my yard with dedicated spare/guest parking

Yeah but everyone in your hood is struggling for street parking. These people are intentionally grubbing up all available space because they have too much shit. I’m lucky, on my street, we have room and are considerate. Under no circumstances would I ever let MY bullshit mess with my neighbors. This guys neighbors are throwing off strong indicators.

The only time I was ever territorial about parking was when I lived up the road from chargers stadium (or Qualcomm whatever) and people would try to park in my hood instead of paying the parking fees at the stadium. My street and I would open the garage doors and mean mug every domesticated sweater wearing pussy who drove by. Seats fuckin taken bro.

Cant you park in a way that it prevent his truck from fitting (like center the space for two cars), or use the motorcycle to ensure another car cant fit.
