Welcome! What lens are you shooting and what’s the lowest f-stop on your camera? You shooting in JPEG or RAW ?

I have the Sony FE 28mm f2 lens. That moab pic was shot in JPEG but I just changed to shooting in RAW now. Also I haven’t really used Lightroom to it’s full potential. I just do some quick post processing.

Nice. How you liking it for normal pics ? I mainly shoot my Sony 85mm 1.8, my other main is a Sony 50mm 1.8. I’m getting a lot better at Lightroom (well I think I am lol) just like shooting, just using it more and more and it will come to you. Presets help a lot too. Def have to shoot RAW! Make sure you’re shooting wide open at f2 for Astro. One thing I learned which I never thought of before, if you’re shooting long exposure make sure you set like a 2 sec timer so you’re not touching the camera once it starts shooting. Every little vibration adds up.

Thanks for the tips! I like the camera and lens. I don’t really have anything to compare it to other than a Nikon d300 I had for 2 months. Do you set you auto HDR on? I read that if you shoot raw than the pics actually come out underexposed. I’ll post some more Astro pics here after I shoot them.

Sorry for the late response. Been a little busy with getting things ready for our big move to CA. I only shoot RAW so I believe auto HDR is only for .jpeg. I don’t find them coming out underexposed. Another little tip is, if you are actually feeling that way is to slightly lower your brightness in your viewfinder and that will cause you to change your settings to correctly expose for that shot. If that makes sense.

One of my last trail days before I shipped the truck to CA.

Changing up the look in the build once I get there, think it will look much better. I’ll be in CA (San Diego) in sept. Hopefully meet up with some like minded people to get onto some trails with!

Week one in CA, Went out and hit up Anza Borrego desert state park.
Finally got some time to get back on here and post, been very busy with work/life getting ready for this upcoming deployment. Got into CA beginning of September 2019 and quickly started planning a trip. Decided on going out to Anza and visiting the huge steel statues (T-rex, elephants, dragon, scorpion, horses) This place did not disappoint. Minus the heat, it was a awesome spot. Truck was reading a warm temp of 108! Also had a Prinsu CabRack waiting for me once I got here.

Nice! fellow long bed. Actually on deployment right now. Been out since January so that's why I've been so behind. Doing my mandatory quarantine in Guam so I have a little bit of time to put into this again.

Yea this whole situation just sucks! But it’s life. We’ll have to wheel sometime. I have kids myself. 12yr old daughter and 14yr old son. Both enjoy getting out

At this point in time I was just trying to cram as many trips into our free time as possible! I was about to leave on deployment. 10 years in the Navy and had to leave on my first air craft carrier. CVN 71 Theodore Roosevelt.

(Sorry for the back log of post, haven't been able to upload since I'm currently still on said deployment finishing up my mandatory Covid-19 quarantine in Guam. Was a massive outbreak on the ship that was all over the news.)

Local Toyota meet up in SD. Over 60 rigs showed up. Hadn’t taken off my 1.25 wheel spacers yet. They were taken off when I got back home. Was a little much combined with the -24 offset.

Big oof, I don't envy you. One of my buddies has orders to the HSM in the TRs CAG in October and he's hoping you don't get extended.
