New torque wrench?

Looking for a new torque wrench; don't mind paying for quality, but maybe not quite Snap-On or Milwaukee price maybe, but $3-400. Ideally I'd like one of those fancy digital models with the angle display but that's want, not need.

Recommendations for a good quality unit, not fussy about whether it's split-beam, micrometer-adjust, or digital, as long as it's quality and holds its calibration.

 

You didn't say what range you want.

I'd suggest poking around on E-Bay with an open mind.
Years ago I bought a pile of small (25-250 inch-pounds, not foot pounds) torque wrenches made by CDI for around $30 each. They were branded IBM, but made by CDI. CDI makes great torque wrenches. They were bought out by Snap-On.

 

I have always had pretty good luck with Kobalt torque wrenches. Good price and I have never had anything loosen up afterwards. You can get them in the tools section at Lowes.

 

25-50 on the low end, to at least 200 lb-ft.

 

CDI / Snap-on Industrial is available well within your budget.

I got the new craftsman 1/2” at Lowe’s as a gift. It’s done it’s job. No complaints yet.
