    Pisgah was great today. Starting to get my legs back but climbing a mile+ in the last two days has me smoked. I did get passed on a fire road by an E-Biker who then inexplicably went OTB right after passing me. On a gravel road. Going uphill.
    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Serves him right. Dirty ol ebiker.

    I did this powered by nothing but a breakfast burrito

    Such a good loop! But a longer one than Im used to in the early season. Suffering in the saddle area a tad now.

    Buddy I watched it happen in real time from ten feet away and I still have no idea. I stopped and asked him, with a smile on my face, if his moped had a technical glitch which my wife later said was “a dick move”.

    New bike day! Came with an X2 and carbon bar upgrade that I wasn’t expecting.

    Thanks fellas! It’s not much but it’s progression! I wanted to do it again but figured with the healthcare situation I should probably quit while I was ahead haha. I’ll be much more confident next time I’m down there.

    Remember, the proper phrase is "do it again" not "one more time". That last phrase goes from "congrats on making that drop" to "yeah, the doc can prob reattach your ear" real quick.

    Got out for a big ride today on the hardtail; 22 miles and 3500 feet. Felt real good to get a big day in the saddle.

    Ok. This may seem like a trivial question... but what brands of mtn bike helmets are you running? I’m ready to replace my old (cheap) Bell and want to step up to something more protective. Ive looked at the Giro and Smith offerings but since we can’t go to a regular store and try these on at the moment... I’m unable to pick. Plus, I don’t want to miss out on an option because the didn’t sell it at the local bike shop or REI, and I didn’t know any better. Any help or guidance here is appreciated.

    My main concern after safety features is to ensure I do not look like a turbo virgin when wearing a helmet.

    Smith and Giro both make great helmets. I'm wearing a Smith Venture right now and it makes me look less like a virgin. You really cannot go wrong with helmets these days if they have a visor and protection on the lower back of your dome. Troy lee designs has nice helmets too but you will want to size up one more than normal. Even Fox helmets are coming back around from looking utterly stupid. POC are nice as well. Giro Montaro, Fixture and Chronicle helmets are all nice. Be careful with the Fixture because it only has one size.

    Trying on is really key, I tried on smith and really wanted it to fit but it didn’t. Super close but compared to others it isn’t. I’ve got a Bontrager spectre with wavecel and Bontrager rally with MIPS. Those fit better than my last giro.

    I’d say to make sure they fit and have mips. Check this out for safety ratings, it’s the only standard test rating that I know of.
