So you're trying to turn the S into a P trap. That pipe connection in the floor looks like it will be a hard joint to make up.

The reason S traps were phased out was that they could cause siphoning in the trap and allowing gases to come out the drain or made gurgling noises. If you haven't had either problem then that short horizontal run might be enough to keep the water seal in place. If it ain't broke...

drain does gurgle. And in this house, well lets just say it was creatively built.

After fiddling around with my dad’s old weight distribution system, I finally bit the bullet and bought a new set up. I would have had to do some crazy reconfiguration of the camper to make the old set up work and end up with new holes in the frame and some that would have been abandoned. The old set up is probably 25 years old and looking pretty rusty anyways so, it’s getting put away and finally replaced. I’m trying out the Andersen weight distribution system with sway control. Looks like a simple system and is very adjustable with where it can be placed on a trailer frame. Reviews seem positive so we’ll see how it turns out!

Oh man this brought back a memory...my aunt had a 199x Escort hatch back...the thing was every bit the POS you've just described...were driving down the road and my cousin says "You think this thing can get air?" and I'm all "Wha?"...He pins it and of course the car barely sputters but he takes me down this back road with a railroad crossing...He hits the elevated crossing probably doing 40-50mph...That little crap box shoots in the air and SLAMS down on the other side...Every shock and strut was blown...the car was sitting 3 inches lower. I'm pretty sure the oil pan slammed the road as well...The car was wrecked. He drove it home, parked it...The next day his mom is all "There's something up with my car...it feels off..." and my uncle looks at the thing (he knew cars) "The suspension is shot...this thing is a piece of shit..." OMg I am crying laughing right now remembering this story...oh man...

This looks like the disaster we found in my kitchen when we moved in and wanted to upgrade...We did a full gutting and replaced everything...

That’s were the conversation has headed.

But I’m not ready for that overhaul yet.

It’s amazing how much of a difference it makes. I’ve towed the trailer across town without WD and sway control, and other than moving the camper around the yard, I will always hook it up now.

I agree, we tend to go camping in areas 4+ hours away and a lot of highway driving, if nothing else it’s just cheap insurance to keep the trailer inline god forbid you have to make a quick maneuver.

Had friends from VT and NY over last night for a fire, some family from here came as well.

I'm officially done with quarantine, 14 days to curve the spread has turned into 60 days with no end in sight. My new normal is my old normal and I'm going back to it. :notsure:

Boston mayor said they can't open up because not enough people have been exposed...so continue lock down so no one can get exposed??

    Insanity folks.

We have been starting to have friends and moving towards life as it once was.

It’s crazy how much better we feel after hanging out with our friends.

I haven't just laughed and relaxed in about two months it seems. It was so nice. I'm not even very social, but humans NEED to interact and its not healthy to be separated like this and scared of everyone you see. It really has a mental toll.

Yup. I think people are starting to say screw you about this whole quarantine thing. When it was supposed to be a month or two everyone was like sad but okay we can do it. Now they’re talking like all summer plus not going back to school etc and people are not reacting well to that.

Yup went over a friend's place yesterday for some day drinking. Going to my wife's aunt's place to hang out with a few family members in a bit. We are still being cautious but we can't stay locked up for this long.
