I had the RB12CS in a blind tasting a couple weeks ago. I really liked it and normally don't lean toward Irish Whiskies.

Scotch has a reputation for being pretty stuffy, regimented, and traditional to a fault.

Compass Box bucks that trend in a major way. Cool names, cooler labels, and wild experiments. Looking for an age statement? They let a 3 year old make up 1% of their Three Year Deluxe just so they have to age state it 3 years. Don't like blends? Move along to that self important single malt. Think grain whiskey is nothing but swill used to cut mediocre stuff? Try this Hedonism that is only grain whiskey. They really don't give a shit what you think about tradition or what you think scotch is supposed to be. It's damn fun, damn good stuff. John Glaser puts that middle finger in the air, but juuuussstttt low enough to not get perma-banned by the Scotch Association. I've carried his torch ever since I was turned on to the stuff.

Ardbeg is a slightly more conservative version of that. Lots of tradition, but damn they have fun with their stuff and get out from under the stuffy expectations of a proper Scottish distillery. I love the names, the labels, and the big, bold flavors. Grooves looks like it came out of an Austin Powers movie. Corryvreckan is so smokey, people think I put cigar ash in it (but it's tasty!). They aged a whisky on the goddamn International Space Station for crying out loud. Super cool.

Can't say I have the passion or collection you do with Ardbeg, but I'll gladly beat the drum with you. They're awesome.

I can’t function on 4 hours sleep more than a day or two anymore. Heck when it gets late now my brain now goes WHY are you still awake instead of where’s the next party.

J Riddle Peated Bourbon. Got a sample from a buddy. I think I kind of like this stuff. It's like the cream cheese in a smoked jalapeno popper.

Another 16 hour shift at the prison, time to unwind. Super high heat on the front and rear but man it’s tasty.

I know this is a long shot but when you all are out and about will you keep you eyes open for a 200ml bottle of Jack Daniel's Rye? I just need to know it exists.

I'm designing a new display case and out of the few bottles I'm missing that is one I haven't seen or been able to find with Google. My case is going to be designed around bottle sizes and if that one exists it'll make my life easier Haha
