Induction Bolt Heater for rusted, seized nuts and bolts.

This looks like a really good way to heat up stuck bolts and free them up. It probably heats up the entire bolt evenly instead of just the exposed part.

I think this one is like $400. There is a way to DIY one with a 3D printed handle for around $150. It is costly but if you did a lot of rusty vehicle restoration it might be worthwhile.

Where I live rust is a daily thing .

Steel stored inside rusts in the rack.I buy never seize by the case.

$400.00 is a small amount if it prevents breaking a few bolts a year.

They do work. But the issue is that you need to more less go “straight” in on the bolt head.
Not all bolts are “easy” to get to, it won’t fully take the place of the torch. The torch can get in tighter places where you can “bend” the flame to the bolt head.

I’d still own one if it were cheap enough.

We have one at our dealership. Dodge Jeep Chrysler. It was sent to us as an essential tool for a jeep trailer hitch recall. Haven't had to use it yet but I guess it works pretty well.

 

considering we're talking about some voltage here im not sure how much i'd trust a chinese knock off of the miniductor

my venoms 2 years old and still working flawlessly with the original attachments. the only one getting worn is the one for bearings... but its flexible and expected to not last too long

 

Sometimes a cheap tool is an expensive tool.

 

I have one of these at work that we use to get tight tolerance parts fit together. It works, not sure how much better than a torch, but it was there when I was hired, so I will use it.

 

These things are the best thing to happen since sliced bread. They work effortlessly. Tips are bendable to a point, just don't go overboard. Allows getting into awkward spots. Costly tool but dang . . . its awesome. Safer than a hot flame.
