Are HF torque wrenches halfway decent? Want to make sure they're accurate so I don't waste my money. Cheers

tested my ft lb one with our cal shop a few years ago and it was on point. Kinda want to check it again just to be curious. Seemed to be pretty stout.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response. They're a whole lot cheaper than anywhere else!

There is an easy way to test them with a digital scale and if it's out of spec it is adjustable to get it right. There's a youtube link in this thread somewhere that I'm not finding right now. I'm waiting for the Pittsburgh ones to go on sale for $9.99 again and I'll grab a 1/4" one.

I have the 1/4 and 3/8 ones. I haven’t used the 1/4 yet, but the 3/8 one seems to be alright.... I haven’t stripped anything with it yet. It doesn’t click as noticeably as I’d like it to on the lower end of the torque range, but as long as you’re paying close attention it’s ok.

They have all different tiers/lines of torque wrenches, which one in particular are you talking about?

They’re all accurate. This has been thoroughly tested and widely publicized.

I have a screw in the same spot. Been there for quite some time now. I'm hoping discount considers it irreparable so I get a new tire for $30. Also have a nice cut to the core in another tire.

Nobody is disputing that, but there is a difference between them as far as quality of ergonomics/operation goes. Even then, the bottom of the barrel Pittsburgh units with lifetime warranty are hard to beat for $10 on sale and I've got all three sizes (1/4", 3/8", and 1/2") myself.

Best things I've gotten from HF are my jack, jack stands, brake bleeder (finally failed after 2 years), and little bits like gloves and one use tools make HF essential.

If you follow the link for the coupon, you can read the fine print and then realize it applies to none of the subsequently advertised items except maybe the lamp.

Check expired coupon codes on HFQDB. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them still works since they extended a bunch of them till the end of the month.
