I drive pretty hard and occasionally bottom out pretty good. The shocks definitely handle big hits very well. But I just got the durobumps as a few times it has been a big hit. And if everything gets absorbs nicely it will help mitigate anything breaking.

Anyone paired with OME 886's yet? I'm worried about height/ weight with the 600lb spring.

Well that would fix that problem then. Thanks.

How's everyone liking their 8112/8100 combo's? Any long-term issues or regrets? I've currently got a 5100 w/ OME 888 setup, and although I like the ride most of the time, the ride quality starts to fall apart when hitting rougher sections of trail and dirt roads. These are currently at the top of my list.

    Just loving mine,
I was watching a stock Tacoma Sport in front of me today on a bad section of road,
with its rear end skittering around and the truck shaking...
I could have been drinking a coffee and not spilled a drop.
A section of train tracks I went over, just heard a lot of tire noise,
went over the same spot a week later in a Dodge 1500,
and it was a full bottom out, spine around your ears experience...

Adding aftermarket rear leafs also helped quite a bit, but the 8100's on the back with just the factory leafs is a dramatic improvement.

They were a little stiff for the first hundred miles or so, then got a lot smoother.

We are in a high salt use area in the winter, my rears started to show a little corrosion after their first winter (where show and ice would build up on top of the reservoir) so I cleaned them up with a brillow pad and put some high temp clear paint on them. Fronts didn't show any corrosion at all. But I do keep them oiled and greased up during the winter.

Since the reservoir hose has a cloth covering I'd recommend covering it with electrical split-loom if you want to keep them clean looking when playing in the mud.

The shocks are great!! Had mine for like 10,000 miles now. Anyone know if there is any oil change or maintenance needed on these and the frequency required?

only issue I just noticed is on my left rear the leaf pack Clamp holder from icons AAL pack has been rubbing the hose. I moved the hose to a different position but it could move back to being rubbed on agian. I’ll have to find a better fix for it.

    Good information! Thank you both!

Is anyone running the 650lb spring up front without any additional weight?

Word on the street is that 650lb springs are on backorder unfortunately. I know it doesn't answer your question, but I've got steel skids and rock sliders and want the 650's.

Well, I happened to score a set of 8100's for over half-off. So I'm running those out back with 5100's up front, haha. Couple of questions...

    1) Who's got the best deal right now for 8112's?
    2) What's the best way to go about tuning these 8100's?
    3) Do you think it's worth going 8112's up front, or settling for 6112's?

I haven’t had both but there’s a guy on here who has had both sets. Says the rears are a big difference. But up front the 6112s are close in performance to 8112. I would just get the 8112s to match and be done with it though.

Why limit yourself, go 8112s up front too

6112s don’t even come close to performance of the 8112 especially if your comparing to the rebound performance. Pavement performance maybe...but yes the 8100s rear is a huge difference.

    I got 8112 with 650 spring from @HeadStrong Off-Road

as far as tuning 8100s they’re good right out of the box. You can open the tubes up for more rebound/compression.

If you got the money for 8112s go for it. I had 6112s paired 8100s in the rear and did just fine. Once I got 8112s you feel a huge difference.

    Good luck

Awesome feedback and exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!

I have some extra weight in the rear and was thinking of upping the compression a little to see if that would help stabilize it better. The difference from 5100's to 8100's was quite drastic, so I can only imagine what the 8112's can do.

Specific question, anyone run 8112's with full CBI bumper? Would the optional frame mounting bracket that supports reservoirs be needed, or are the 8112's compatible with the frame mounting brackets that come standard with the bumper?

You won't regret that move...yes buy once cry once but then party time.:bananadance: depending on your use the 700lb springs are great for any extra weight imo.

There’s a few people doing so that I remember. @Bot_Chu just installed some for a 2nd gen with no additional weight.

Anyone happen to be running the deaver expedition stage II's with these? I've got about 400-500 lbs constant weight due to GFC, bike rack, and sliders.. I'm debating between the the deaver stage II's or the Icon RXT. I'm a little worried the deavers will come out to 3" and these are really only rated up to 2" lift for rear. THouhgts?

I run them. I have my GFC, sliders, and usually about 50-100 lbs of shit in the back at any given time. There is def lift, but the ride is nice with the extra weight added. Sits a little stink bug, but I actually prefer it and balances out when loaded with all my gear. Check out my insta for pics
