I'm running LT and honestly I don't think it's worth the labor to install them.

You have a 2011, so it might be easier.

The factory torque management is restricting your output.

My truck came alive with URD long tubes and a completely stock ypipe and exhaust with a tune.

Im debating the weld factor of the shorties to my existing Y pipe (vs not have to on the long tubes, I think). I'm not sure if I trust myself welding on such thin lips on the DT shorties. In the same regard, IDK if I trust a shop to do it either haha. I guess I need to just get after it and try. worst case I can always take it to a shop if I mess something up.

Can you be a little more specific?

I felt it was more alive after adding the JFR y-pipe, before the headers.

With that said, I'm still running the stock pulley and intake.

The stock ECU has mapping that actively limits the engine output relative to RPM and load. If the factory targets are exceeded the truck will retard ignition andvance to lower the ouput of the motor to keep it within the defined limits of the torque map.

There’s some “buffer” in the stock system that allows some additional output over stock. But once you surpass that, the truck will actively “fight” any addition mods you do by pulling timing.

This is why the forum as a whole believes bolt-ons (even on a N/A truck) are worthless.

Until I replace the pulley, I'm not looking to adjust the tune. I'm one of the few that was successful with the BD tune and I've never had an issue after install. Every once in a while, my O2 sims will flag and error, but I carry a reset tool in the truck.

Maybe this winter I'll throw in a 3.82 and adjust the ECU. :notsure:

Not trying to sell you, just helping share some knowledge. The headers really are one of the best mods for these engines. :)

It was just a painful install, after changing out all the studs. Thankfully, I had some awesome help @TacoAlaMode :hattip:

my tuning experience with @JustDSM is great, but wears out tires faster.

My truck is on hold for now, as I have a few mods to accomplish to my daughter's X3.

That's horrible.. I was always under the impression that the 1GR in NA form was topped out for power and there wasn't much more you could do to it in order to gain more power. No wonder this entire forum doesn't mod for power. Unless you're here. ;)

I too like to live dangerously. ;)

Selling is not needed here brother. The product sells itself.

It even saves motors (me) from imminent grenading.

In other news. My mileage is back up to 226-232 mixed driving which was down to 192-208 after resuscitating my intercooler system from the dead. I'm very happy.

Nah, I own guns and don't have a moral block to eliminating someone. :drevil:

I need to add to the audio system, to include car play, and front and rear cameras.

So I’ve been on the lookout for a Tundra for awhile. Then the virus showed it’s damn face. Anyway check out the new Whipple that just came out for the 5.7.
