I recommend something E85 rated. It will resist the effects of ethanol in most fuels. That is just me though.

In an ideal world I'd love to go e85 but i frequent places enough that don't have e85 so it wouldn't be practical for me

Oh no. Don't be mistaken, by the way I worded that. It's that the pump is more robust to handle the ethanol as well. As most fuels have ~10% ethanol in them.

Looking at the pictures on Prochargers website, this type seems like a simpler install than a Magnuson unit. I’d be stoked on a relatively easy bolt on kit without having to mess with timing, electronics, or get into the top end of the engine.

Also I’d question the transmission, if Hp is up close to 400, wouldn’t the trans need beefing up as well?

I know of the valve body upgrade, anything else than can be done?

I believe IPT sells a fully built trans. Also the fuel pump should be upgraded with that kit. The boost a pump setup may work short term but I think long term you will run into fueling issues.

Another thing to consider since you are in California is getting the vehicle smogged, this kit will not pass the visual inspection.

Overall it looks like a badass setup though. I wonder who is going to be the first to install one.

    :pccoffee:

I imagine that IPT's trans upgrades are at least the valve body and torque converter. There could be other internal clutches and stuff that they upgrade too..

No. No. No. I just read in the 4-cylinder thread that superchargers are a waste of money. We should just sell our trucks and buy the V6.

Everyone in this thread should just sell their truck and buy a Tundra. The resale value will be better. /s

    Lol.

Anyway, to upgrade, the valve body can be upgraded by IPT.

The whole transmission can be upgraded by them.

Clutch packs from Raybestos can be upgraded and increase torque capacity.

honestly a simple valvebody upgrade, trans tune, and bigger trans cooler will be more than enough for most peps w/autos.

Realistically my truck is 12/13 years old at this point and its got 140k miles. Obviously anything you do to the engine is hurting reliability but I am a little concerned about putting the thing on and then my truck blows up a year later. How much stress is a supercharger (and supercharger driving) going to put on a truck.

Not enough popcorn in the world.

I had previously inquired about this for my FJ and they said it's coming. Honestly i'm really tempted to just buy the Taco "tuner" kit rather than wait for them to roll out direct fit. Making a couple brackets for the intercooler, etc is no big deal. Already hooked up on the HPtuner too, I can't really think of anything else that would be an issue.. :curls:

What gauges would be most important to purchase first? I plan on starting with just the A pillar so what two would be a good start and eventually ill buy the one that goes right in front of your instrument panel. If this is a stupid question humor me this will be my first boosted vehicle!
