Haha yeah that shit was ridiculous. It seems they mostly recovered from that fiasco from what I could tell. It definitely says something about the company. Like how corporate and disconnected form their target consumer they are becoming.

They are still closed for in-store shopping. You can do curbside pickup. If you are just going for Monte Sano wear I'd go with the raids.

Knee pads are a solid purchase depending on your riding. Personally when I wear them it’s more to protect from bashing my knees on my frame if/when I eat shit

    I know I know lol.

only reason I say pricey is because I can get some Amazon specials with some padding that aren't going to breathe for shit either. I hit my knee on my most recent crash and had a bruise for over a week, so that's why I even want pads....

yeah I'm positive it will be a "get what you pay for" type thing. I just know it's about to be hot as balls around here to ride, so I'd prefer not to wear pads at all...but that's when I'd crack a kneecap or something I'm sure, but I will be very limited as to when I will wear them because of how hot it will be.

my last set that I finally replaced were 8 years old. Good knee pads last a long time if you take care of them, like anything else.

Yeah they definitely get hot. Cost/benefits haha. I’d say you might want them for the NC trip. Strap them to your pack on the way up and put them on at the top. That’s what I used to do for big climbs
Same, I still have some old 661 knee pads, bulky as hell but other than some wear from a chainring they are solid.

oh good idea, I didn't actually think of strapping them on like that. good thought to not have to have them on for 100% of the ride.

Man, you pretty much sweat checking your mail in Alabama from June through September! Still cracks me up how many people I see wearing cotton undershirts under a cotton collared shirt in July! With all that being said, these will last a long time for you and its not like you won't be pouring sweat anyways.

Yeah it’s not ideal but when you know you’re gonna be climbing for 30+ Minutes it’s nice to knit have them on. I get hot pretty quickly so have always struggled with that

pretty much the only way I run. Strapped to my pack or top tube on the way, wearing them on my legs on the way down.

It’s the way to go haha. I haven’t shopped for knee pads recently but I do remember seeing some that open up completely so you don’t have to slide them over your shoes.

Obviously what they were doing was horrible business practice, but they have done a good job of responding. They've gone out and given money to a number of the small companies they were suing, to help those businesses get jump started. I get if people are still done with them, but I think they've responded as well as they possibly could have.
