Have any of yall installed or have experience with the barn door style sliding doors? we have a room that has about a 12ft opening that we are needing to close in to make a makeshift bedroom in advance of another kid taking over our guest room. main question is, how easily can these things come off the tracks? are they really loud when theyre rolling across the tracks? how badly do they swing front to back? am i missing other options that arent framing in the space and installing a door? its going to have to be 2 doors one in front of the other since theres no wall on either side to for them to roll out.

Most are pretty quiet, they can lift off but shouldnt necessarily just come off. Thers some bumpers/guide you put on the floor so they dont swing when opening.

@jpneely - They aren't bypass doors like you're talking about but here's a quick video of my barn doors.

I didn't install them so I can't answer anything for that.

To come off, the door does just need to be lifted up but they're heavy enough that it hasn't been a problem. Let's call it 3/16" for mine:

For the swinging, mine have a cleat that hold them at the floor:

Thanks guys, I was hoping to avoid drilling into my hardwoods for a guide or bumper but I may have to it seems. That's a sweet movie room you have there!

You might be able to get a bracket to the wall

Doing a quick search, there looks to be plenty of options for wall mounted guides.
Thanks! Between watching movies and one of my kids playing Call of Duty, it is a pretty heavily used room. As it should be! I'd love to make the jump to a 4k projector but can't justify it just yet.

Looks fantastic! Love that the file cabinets become nightstands. As the father of a 7week old, you will love that peanut changing pad. Keekaroo, or whatever it’s called.

Thanks and congrats! She’s due June 30th - it’ll be here before i know it! We lucked out with that pad. It was an online order returned to our local buy buy baby. Brand new unopened marked down to $30. We got a ton of good deals that way.

Started leveling my backyard today. the people who built this house didnt understand that water draining to the house makes my basement flood.

So I am slowly shaving 1 inch at a time this hill and dumping the dirt in the back of the yard. I have one more hill that I need to shave down, that one might be a bit harder though as I need to take it down about 2 feet. The hill in this picture has been taken down about 6 inches, still needs another 2-3 till im happy with it.

I am using a tiller to loosen up the top 1 inch of soil so I can shovel it up easy. My whole backyard is dirt, moss, and weeds. I will be ordering grass once I am happy its nice and level.

Got the Adirondacks put back outside and the lights hung up so I can enjoy them for the next 2 months before it's time to put them away for winter.

Its raining today, so couldnt do anymore work in the yard. But I used the free time to get a new dump wagon so I dont have to struggle with the wheel barrow anymore. I also made a "hitch" for my mini bike so I can tow the dump trailer or drag logs out of the woods. Next up is to figure out how to mount some small ammo cans to the sides of the bike for storage.

Got my ammo can mounted up. I think I'll just go with one for now.
