We have every Torque converter control for the tacoma defined, we just didn't add the definition update in vF.

It is coming in a future update. If you look you will see that the shift tables are pretty bland too.

That's because we have a whole rewrite of that code we want you guy using instead of stock junk

@OVTune - curious, what is the root cause of the issue in yesterday's build that you're rebuilding today for?

I don't know what your particular build is on your truck and I hate to offer an expensive alternative as a possible fix but coming from a guy that lives in the mountains myself, a gear swap made a world of difference in driving characteristics. Even on stock tires a gear swap has done a bit of good for everyone that has done them. Adding plus sized tires to me makes doing a gear swap a mandatory thing. OV will get you part way to good driveability on mountain passes but combined with gears was the winning ticket for me for the gear dance

I think you're looking at it the wrong way...
There is plenty of power. However, your stock gearing keeps you out of the rpm range where it's available in 4th gear. Bottom line: you need to regear

All good, thanks Mat. The updates are much appreciated. Any ETA on the release through 04b14 would be greatly appreciated as well when you have an idea of when we can expect. Not rushing, just excited. :broccoli:

Scangauge adjusted for mpg and mph.

First, I never bought tune for performance I bought it for drive ability.

There is still a small delay in starting at times but I don't really think it is anything to worry about. I've owned other trucks that did the same thing.
Did a 50 mile drive at 55 mph with numerous stop signs and moderate hills.
Averaged 24.7 mpg and it drove flawlessly.

Did 50 mile trip at 70 mph the whole time averaged 21.7. Moderate hills, maintained sixth years 99 percent of the time.

It is idling better than it ever has.

Mat you have done a great job! This thread be has always been about drivability not driver preference. There is no way to make a tune to everybody's preference, thanks for making my truck a pleasure to drive. Can't wait to do some offroading and towing this summer since I own a 4k RV.

Yeah, I'd love to regear, but I'm a ways away from justifying spending the money on it. In the meantime, OVTune has helped immensely. Excited to see how 2.0 final improves things!

    Re: Gear Lock
Not a fan. I prefer S-Mode to limit upper gears but still shift like an automatic. Around town I use S4. On long level stretches of highway I use S5. (like 2.0B 19800 non-GL)
I also like ECT to toggle the throttle response and shift points (like 2.0F 1st edition).

If this is something I can toggle in vF then great. I'll do that when I get whatever email I'm supposed to get after I ordered the upgrade. :boink:

I would be inclined to agree with him, at high elevation this engine really struggles with the stock gearing, small displacement that's being choked, and heavy weight of the truck.

In all reality the only true fix for high elevation is boost. You need to replace that missing air.

Some engines lose as much as 20 percent of their sea level horsepower.
Drive to the top of pikes peak and this 3.5L is probably cranking out 150hp if you're lucky.

Since "S" will be tied up, I guess Shift Sense Pro is in the rear view mirror.... yet I'm still looking forward to the final 2.0.

I never went back to 1.05 after the dealer did the TSB and never loaded any of the Beta's.
The TSB coupled with SSP made it OK on the flats while I was down south for the winter....
Now that I'm back in the hills I am reminded how bad the stock setup really is.
