My 2000 seems to be missing a few pieces to lower the spare tire. Realized today when replacing a shock. I’ll attach a photo to show what the kit looks like. If anyone knows where I can pick one up or has one for sale that would be appreciated. I might have to go to the pick n pull near me and look. The part you stick the tool in to lower the spare looks like a thick flathead screwdriver would fit. I think that’s the part I’m missing.

No lock that I know of. Just trying to figure out exactly what parts I’m missing. Maybe an extension and the jack hook. I never have good luck at my local pick n save.

I just pulled (last week) the jack and associated parts from a 2000 Pathfinder. They work great. All my stuff was missing from the PO so I had to improvise, but it all works. I hope I'm not committing the ultimate sin by having Nissan parts in my Toyota... don't want to get kicked off of TW!

I think mine actually might be from an older toyota pickup or 4runner.

I have a spare kit that is only missing one piece(can't remember which piece). I'll try to post a pic in the morning.

Defrost mirrors, compass/temp display rear view mirror, rear wiper on camper shell, trans.cooler.
I hate the Toyota truck spare tools.
I did notoce Ford Trucks have a better length lowering rod for the spare. Should be a direct replacement.

    Toyota Truck Jack
The thin access hole above the bumper is always in the way of the tailgate. And the pieces don't readily fit through.

I got tired crawling under the truck to check the air pressure in the spare.

Plus finding out the spare was not coming down without cutting .

The kit got scattered and used for other things.

Stuff like that at yards gets used and left when done.

The only piece that's missing is the crank piece. 20200518_052318.jpg

The part in the middle(with the hook) in this picture is what goes into the slot to turn the crank and lower the tire.

I took this off of an E-bay posting, but this is what the complete OEM 1st generation spare tire tool kit looks like. Notice the elongated crank handle above the storage pouch. I believe there’s a also a screwdriver with a removable tip to switch from Phillips to straight edge blade.

I can confirm that the Ebay picture is what is in my truck and that I believe it to be correct.
