WTB stock LCA's with free cam sleeves and <90k miles (ideally). 2nd gen but I don't think they changed them between generations. Mine are seized and the local shop wanted $300 to free them which I imagine could go downhill fast.

Thanks for the response man. What is a vagabond or a GFC? I’d really just like something weather proof, and more secure than a soft topper. And I’d like to put a roof rack on it as well.

Do you know what your roughly paid for yours?

It's been about 4 years since I shopped toppers. I considered ARE, SnugTop, and Leer; comparing dealers between Pueblo and Longmont. At the time, the best deal (bang for the buck) I found was at Suburban Toppers, 5795 E Colfax Ave. Obviously, YMMV.

Thanks man. Do you know what ball park I should expect $ wise? I’m just looking for a super basic shell with a roof rack or rail system.

its the cam through bolt “sleeve” that is seized not the LCA. You can sawzall the bolt out and buy a new one from toyota. If you do this, put a bit of antiseize on it before reinstalling. Its a simple job but can be a pita if you dont have good sawzall blades

Here are some links these are shell/Roof top tent combined.

    https://vagabondoutdoors.com/
    https://gofastcampers.com/

I paid I think around 2800 give or take that included windoors, pro lock, folding down front window with slider. That included some promotions too.

really comes down too what your looking for. Leer and snugtop are
More $$ ARE seems to be a little more affordable.

Another new shell That is $$ kind of like these kind of new made of alum can hold a lot of weight up top.

I got a Snugtop, not the cheapest.

Calculate how much weight you want to carry on top all the time, and what would be your total max static weight. There are shells that are thicker which are stronger for more weight.

I just rebuilt a set and put on new hardware all mine where seized. I have my old set about 92k on them they need to be rebuilt new bushings and Ball joints needed. I swapped to white line bushings and moag BJ. I ordered new hardware online was cheaper.

A rebuild would be a good project for me, I've done ball joints but not bushings - do you need a special press for the bushings?

Thanks that's what I meant, just poorly worded. I can just imagine things going south so I'd rather start with a set I know isn't seized, apply the anti-seize and do the install myself instead of getting stuck without the truck because I fucked something up.

Itll be hard to fuck it up. Even if you get new LCA, youll still have to cut out the seized cam bolt sleeve. Let me see if i can find you a diagram.

if you are close to the springs then i am happy to help.

Thanks for the offer - I'm up in Lakewood right off 470 and route 6 so not exactly close.

I know the sleeve you're talking about, its got an eccentric hole for the camber adjustment bolt with the fixed washer.

Yeah thats it. Just get good blades, remove wheel, slide blade between LCA bushing and LCA mounts, hold tight, then let her rip.

afterwards, might spray the scratches with paint for good measure then install new bolts.

i did this once in a khols parking lot because i didnt feel like driving all the way back home.
