Try messing with the settings in the HU: vehicle -> lights -> DRL. I don't have the a-rex lights but when I got my modded TRD lights, my DRL initially was amber too. No idea if it will help on these lights, but worth a shot.

i think you need to have the fuse tap on an ignition switched fuse and then ground the other wire, that way they’ll go off when you shut off the truck.

Hold up, so according to those somewhat similar Morimoto instructions they don’t have anything going to the battery. Later this evening I turned everything off, lights are OFF, looked out the window and the DRL’s are on and wouldn’t turn off. Locked and unlocked it several times, still wouldn’t. Finally went out and messed with light switch for a bit and finally got them to go off. Didn’t have this problem at first with them....

I heard of that issue before but I thought they resolved it, i think the issue was the computer restoring power to that fuse for some reason. Maybe check to see if you have another switched fuse you can use?

Interesting, cause I wouldn’t think the EFI No. 3 would need power when the truck is off

No you wouldn’t think so. Just wish I could remember where I read about it. If I find it I’ll let you know.

Yea this is odd, so came home left switch on DRL like I normally do when I had my previous lights. The DRL’s came on for 5 seconds then turned off, WTF. It still does this with the switch OFF

I installed mine a few weeks ago. I love the output. I use to run the white BD squads all the time now they dont make that much a difference... I tried it all in the stock headlights. The bulbs I liked best in stock were the Diode Dynamics, HID's were very nice as well. The last LEDS I had were the tri color ones. Those were the most fun for sure. The AlphaRex are super nice and to my eye they look fantastic. The logo is a bit much but I really don't care. I can try to line up a test like that raptor one when this covid crap is over.

With the Alpharex headlights, turns out the activation sequence runs when the DRLs are powered up for the first time. With standard truck wiring, that happens with the engine running and parking brake released.

To get it to run when you unlock the truck, you'll have to wire the DRLs to another trigger.

@Bustabeatgeorge after having these on for a little over a month, how do you still like the lights? Any thoughts a month later?

The Alpharex converter harness needed for TRD trucks had two cut wires with exposed conductors. According to Alpharex, it's the result of a last-minute rework at the factory.

Did you end up doing the rewire for the activation sequence? I always assumed it came set to the unlock trigger. Been thinking about pulling the trigger. Having to do that extra step kinda sucks though.

Nah. I only had time to apply a ceramic coating on the outer lenses and aim them level. Then I went on a 600-mile wheeling trip. The headlights held up to the pinstriping abuse quite well :D Beam pattern is great and I didn't get flashed by oncoming cars, despite me being lifted 2.7" in the front.
