Can you take a picture of where you applied the grease?

Ill try to get a picture when I get home in about an hour.

Also, I was referring to the radiator mount poly bushings - for grease.

I have this kit from Alpine Designs, but I have not installed it yet. Scared about welding on the frame, myself. I need to get over that.

Kinda nasty.. but here's a picture. There is grease between the bushing and the radiator support

Interesting....not sure if I'm mechanically incline to do it. I would need to take a look at my truck. Thanks for the picture and info though.

The radiator support bushing is super easy. Just need a floor jack and a 2x4, and some grease.

I havent done the cab mount myself yet because im just slightly worried about welding on the frame. I have a welder, but I havent practiced enough yet with metal that is thicker than the frame.

Any updates on clunking? I'm a fan of trying to keep things silent (Also has MTs) lol

I don't have clunking. I have creaking at slow speeds while turning, but not every time.

I have this too. I started investigating and the bushings are the wrong durometer I think. Also, not sure if they compressed or what but the cab is now touching the frame... which I think is contributing to my squeak noise at low speeds. I tried to get some pics

My local shop has already had to redo a few of these. They use energy suspension bushings and highly suggest them. So I am going to try swapping mine out. Does anyone have the diameter/height of the alpine bushings in the kit?? Thanks!

Bushings are synergy Mfg poly bushings .875 thick x 2.125

I will let Chris know about the problem and see what he says.

Can you post a link for those bushings? I'd tried searching for body/cab mount bushings from energy suspension bushings for the Tacoma, but I did not find any.

I am not 100% sure these will work, so I purchased 2 different sizes. I will update once they get here. But these are the 2 kits I got:

Thanks for posting the information. I'll wait to see which kit works best.

I just ordered these from Alpine Designs. Is everyone having issues with sag/bushings? Would you all do this mod again? Should I cancel and just do CMC? (working toward 35" holy grail)

Chris said that the durometer is correct but you have to be careful tightening them. Its easy to tighten it too much, compressing it.

I haven't had a problem with the bushings

Just an update, swapped out the body mount bushings. Wow what a difference. Truck doesn't squeak, rattle, or clunk like it did before. I ended up using the smaller Energy Bushing as it was almost a perfect fit. I had to drill the Alpine Body mount hole out a little larger for the new sleeve. The Energy Is 4MM taller which was just enough to get the cab high enough to not touch the frame. We will see how long it lasts. I feel more confident in this material(seems like a harder durometer) in addition to the metal sleeve that goes down the center.

Thanks for this, @MESO. I have a set arriving today and an appointment for tomorrow.

Would you recommend adjusting where the mount is welded (push up higher) to avoid this? Or would that mess with the weld integrity and I should resign myself to probably picking up a set of thicker bushings like you’ve done?
