I did t do a write up. I want to but am not sure I’ll have time. However I used the maestro unit and the TO1 harness. If you have any questions I’d be happy to help just shoot me a message on here

I started it today and ran some errands. o_O A couple weeks back I put in a Group 31 Oddysey battery because the 27F Optima I bought a few years ago finally crapped out. Quarantine has definitely done a number on the truck. I live in NYC and the rats have made nests out of lots of the cars in the neighborhood including my wife's subaru, but luckily the truck has been spared.

    Did some things today...

New fogs showed up. I didn't have the patience to wait around for the 2.0 gen diode dynamics SS3's. (With my luck they'll be out tomorrow) I bought these Morimoto type from Amazon and threw on some laminx covers. They really made a difference and gave me what I was looking for. Good quality

The climate control swap harness came today and I couldn't be more happy and grateful with how it turned out. @Xx Ares xX killed it.

Next mission is to figure out why the dial LEDS are not lighting up. Eight month old Mod almost complete.

President Johnny III. Easiest to use and fits right into the coin tray spot in the center console. I also have a 3 foot Firestick.

I found the fit to be decent enough visually but I really dislike the plastic brackets that it comes with, and the faceplate doesn't attach to them, like the OE does. Lots of movement and rattling.

@Unchained 5150 I will send the link to the combo when I can find it. It has the cord and antenna. Do you know what type of antenna you want....magnet vs hard mounted?

Built the rack last week. Put it straight to work. I took the kids trout fishing and covered it in hillbilly overlanding gear. Rusty old garden shovel, some plywood traction boards and a length of black abs for a rod holder. Just like the Instagram lads do! Then loaded it up for a high angle roof repair.
I over landed my ass all around eastern ontario doing high speed dirtroads, highway miles and some full on offroad and it's still nice and solid. The design rocks for my needs. The tonneau cover works, the mid height cross bars are moveable to suit, the upper bar allows me to carry longer things.

Now there's a rack I don't hate. Utility AND Overland, I dig it.

Thanks man. I went through all the racks I could find and combined the parts I liked. I find the high front and lower back is the best for carrying longer things. You get a wider spread between the bars. Unloading is easier. Strapping is easier. With canoes the upsweep of the bow doesnt end up hitting your roof on bumpy roads. The only problem I have with the smaller size truck is safely carrying longer things. This rack solves my problem.
The mid height rack is great for storage bags/boxes out of the wind and low enough for parking garages. It's easy access for shovels and recovery gear. And with this design I can push both bars back and have full use of the bed.
The best part of this rack - it was damn near free. Might have spent 50$ on paint and a couple brackets. The steel is all scrap I had laying around.

You gave me your magnet mount. But I do have an antenna mount in the back from the tailgate

What's the process for opening the tonneau with the rack put together? And did you sketch out plans?

Tonneau just rolls up as usual. I'm a carpenter by trade so I used a framing square to do my layout. All my plans were drawn to size on a sheet of plywood. That allowed me to calculate lengths, angles and heights. I just started with the inside width and height dimensions of the rack that would allow the tonneau to work and went from there. Used the artistic eye as well for fine tuning.

You can use the antenna mount for something else and we can run your magnet antenna to the top of the truck
