Also make sure the air pressure is topped off, they ship it with less than ideal (250-300).

Yeah I did that when I first got it, I think I ended up at 250ish. I think my shock pump is rated to 300 but I don’t think it can actually get there haha

Just found out they passed for a second stimulus check, and was thinking of putting my Trump bucks towards a mountain bike. Was leaning toward Trek Marlin 5 or Marlin 6. Any feedback on these bikes or could I get more bang for my buck in another brand?

Those are solid entry level choices, just keep in mind they are very entry level. My view on bikes in that price point (sub $1k) is there isn’t much benefit to paying more for the 6 vs the 5. Ride the cheaper one like you stole it and if you decide the sport is for you save up and buy a better bike in a year or two.

The HEROES Act passed in the House. It still needs to pass in the senate and be ratified by the president before theyd be allowed to be distrubuted.

Not a political post, just don't want you counting on money that isn't there yet.

I haven't and wont be getting any stimulus money, but I'm growing increasingly concerned about where it's going to come from......

Well shit. Mine showed 'In-stock, ships in 1-2 bus. days' when I ordered on Thursday. But you know, COVID and all, I'm gonna give them until the end of this week before I inquire.

I'm really wanting to get that on the frame before it gets built up.

Sorry guys dont want to get political, but either way, trump bucks or not, a bike is in my future. I think i have learned my lesson on getting beginner bikes. Any recommendations on a more advanced bike. I have rode bmx, Harley, and 2 strokes my whole life so I dont want to get stuck with a bike that will limit me once i get comfortable.

Yeah that would be nice...I’m gonna have to wash my bike really good and it’s already getting some cable ride with only 2 rides on it.
If you are cool with pushing your budget up then there are more options: Kona honzo, specialized fuse, trek roscoe, salsa timberjack just to make a few. Obviously the sky is the limit when it comes to bikes. What

Trek offers good value for their prices relative to other big brands. Id advise you to get as much bike as you can afford regardless of brand. The Ripmo AF is another really good option as well.

I just bought the Roscoe 7 and absolutely love it. This is the first new bike I've bought since my 97' Marin Hawk Hill.

Roscoe is basically just the budget Stache and is a great choice.

So let me ask this question. I have the Fox 36 FIT4, let's say I want to spend $300ish on my fork. Would you recommend swapping to a Grip2 damper or keeing the FIT4 but adding the Push ASC3?

Considering you've been happy with your FIT4 so far, I'd drop the ACS3 in there and be on your way.

Or go GRIP2 now and then ACS3 later

The Stache is a 29+ versus the 27.5+... I like the 27.5 wheel size better due to my height.
