Got tired of m exhaust just hanging out there looking silly after getting the high clearance bumper installed, so I chopped it after cleaning and greasing my Dakar’s. Really should have done the leaf springs long ago. That embarrassingly annoying loud creak is all gone now.

Insulated the back wall with some peel and stick sound dampening stuff. Originally had a sheet of two inch foam. I thought it would compress where needed but it didn’t. So I cut and trimmed and thinned all to no avail. Just could not get the Molle panel pressed in close enough to get the mounting bolts lined up and in. Maybe if I had another pair of hands I could have made it work. Tossed it all and grabbed the box of peel and stick shit I had and started over.

Do you guys think its worth using an 80 mil sound deadening liner on the truck while the interior is out? @boogie3478

Any bit helps. I recommend the floor and the roof and if you have the patience the doors.

May as well. That's on my eventual list because on the highway it's noisy with no carpet. Long drives to go wheeling are taxing.

Heck yeah, I've been very pleased with that stuff. I've got some of their closed cell foam to install on top of the sound-deadening material too.

It was trashed and had to be replaced. I punched a hole in my floor and the carpet got wrecked with water and mud. The bed liner was significantly cheaper

Do you remember how much you purchased? I got 50 square feet of mat and have a few cans of boom mat as well. not im wondering if i should pull the headliner all the way out. It will pretty much be out anyway.

That should be plenty. I got one of the 36 sq ft boxes and one of the 18 sq ft and so far have done all 4 doors and the entire back wall including the corners up to the ceiling. Full coverage too. I've got plenty left to tackle the ceiling whenever I feel like pulling the headliner.

Funny, I posted before I saw your post. Why did you put the closed cell up after? I would think since the closed cell also offers thermal insulation it would go up first. My thought on that is, once the regular stuff gets hot then it's just more hot material (metal skin and sound deadening).

There's contradiction here but I just can't see it yet.

I thought all this sound deadening went against the bare metal of the inside of things? Like inside the door cavities. Are there no cavities anywhere else?

One day I plan on doing this. I did just the foil stuff in the back. I have foam panels, but I didn't think I would be able to get everything back on with them. I really want to do the roof and floor. My roofrack is super noisy. And I want to get up in there for the TPMS/Key receiver.

I got their regular sound-deadening stuff and had that on first, but when I got the closed cell foam their vid on youtube actually says it's most effective if used on top of the sound-deadening.

I know this has been asked a bunch, but I've never paid attention to the answers. So I was going to get some tires installed at VA Tire and Auto in Bristow. Why? They're the only shop I could find locally that advertises no-touch mounting. As in, they have a video on the site that shows that it's really no-touch. A bunch of shops say they do, but they're full of it.

With that said, can anyone suggest a joint that has honest to goodness no-touch tire installation? Preferably something near to me. Gracias!
