Back in the day when I worked for Cingular Wireless I talked to a customer that had just gone up in an F-18 and he was so stoked, but at the same time really smug about me not being able to do it. Fuck that dude.

I think if you know people, the odds are better. Years ago, I had a chance to visit the AF Simulator training center. I might have known someone I have "flown" in a Vertical Motion Simulator and a couple of other different kinds of motion simulators (I am not a pilot) and really enjoyed the experience. For sure, I'd want to fly in the real thing.
