    Anyone know what caused the huge market swing that just happened? Poof our conversations are gone, and poof, a bunch of my money is gone. At about the same time.

    Edit: Aaaand it's back (the market).

    I was wondering the same thing but it's bouncing back. I saw QYLD had another normal dividend yesterday so that's good to see. I was worried it might drop off, but it hasn't yet.

    I had just asked if we were having a final hour sell off and the messages got deleted. But yes, I too saw the dip, and it bounced right back.

    That fund pays out by writing covered calls on its positions, so the distribution shouldn't be affected by dividend cuts even if there are some.

    It's how people with money make money...the swings and leverage...Take HTZ for example...there are presently 2,282 open call contracts for $3 may 22. As it goes over and under $3 those move like rabbits. That represents 282,000 shares swinging +/- all day and people buying and selling over and under $3....

    I have been dumping my dividend cutters into SPHD. It's yielding 5.8% right now, which you can lock in with purchases. Its history shows dividend growth for the most part. I plan to make it 10% of my portfolio over time (that could of course change, but that's the plan).

    When BP spilled...I bought...I still remember I bought at like $27 and sold at around $44 and thought "Hey this is easy" a great strategy that probably wont be around post covid (Because attention seeking whores won't get the same amount of attention) was buying stocks that dip because a board member said a "bad thing" or was accused of naughty thoughts 20 years ago...stocks would dip for no financial reasons..
