I like my SOG EOD multi tool I would be naked without it .

I also carry my AJ Russel one hand knife both are light enough to not even notice carrying all day.

The best tool in the world does you no good home in the dresser.

    Like, so many.
You can definitely survive more than hours without shelter (unless you're in a gnarly environment).

I get his initial frustration. When people use crevasse IRL my immediate reaction is to throw rocks at them.

I think you need to first define what is "survival"? It's basically 1) maintaining 98.6 body temperature, 2) defending yourself from imminent danger and 3) being able to communicate for help in emergency. 1) always involves water, sooner or later food (calories) and then the need to either stay warm or cool depending on your environment. 2) is easiest satisfied with a firearm and for 3) to be foolproof usually requires satellite communication (but not a geostationary satellite but a network of polar orbiting satellites (I use InReach Explorer using the Iridium satellite network).

An automotive forum is probably a terrible place to discuss this in earnest. 3rd Gen is the worst place to discuss anything in earnest.

Your first step should be training. Knowledge weighs nothing and you carry it everywhere.
I would advise consulting a survival forum.

The only 10mm that I would depend on to protect myself in the wild has Glock written on the side. TFS.

I wouldn't bother with multi-tools, although my truck always has one in it. I would start with a Ka-Bar and go from there.
