    Hello,

Have not posted in a while. I am currently trying to figure out the Foglight wiring because I am trying to do the following:

I am using a OTTRATW Switch (VJD2UHTB) currently.

    upload_2020-5-14_12-30-21.jpg

    This is my Pin out:

    Foglight has 4 wires:
    Blue - Pin 2
    Green/White - Pin 7 Jumpered with Pin 9
    Green - Pin 5
    White/Blk - Pin 2

LED Strip Light has 2 Wires
    Red - Pin 3
Black - Pin 9 Jumpered with Pin 7

When I press the rocker in the up position, the LED Strip Lights up
In the Neutral Position: nothing lights up
In the Down Position, the Fog lights light up

What I want to do is have the LED Strip & the Fogs come on together in the DOWN Position
and only the LED Strip come on in the UP position.

What do i do? Please help? I know there was a similar post but i can't find it.

    Thanks Guys,
    Christian

    So what switch is that?
I don’t exactly understand your question.. the switch itself or the lights?

The lights IN the switch.... He's asking how you want those lights to work. His drawing is showing you how to wire the switch for the fogs and the LEDs

I explained it in my original post.
When I press up, the led on the switch lights up as well as the LED STRIP Outside the truck.
When I press down, the Led on the switch, the cogs, and the led strip outside the truck light up.

    maybe I wasn’t clear enough.
By LED Strip I mean something similar to a light bar.

Ok, that makes sense. Some ppl like to wire them into the dash lighting circuit.

Are you using relays? If so just run two wires off of the outgoing on the bottom, one to the fog relay and one to the led strip relay.

Put a diode between the switch outputs for fog lights and strip lights.
If you get the wrong combination flip the diode around.
My battery is almost dead so I can't go into more detail right now.

The diode may not work in your application because the factory fog lights are switched ground and we don't know how your LED lights are switched we also don't know what is connected to pin 4.

@celmassry iirc the factory fog light wiring switches to ground rather than switching the +. Your wiring for the light bar needs to work in the same manner. That's is, you run 12 volts to the relay coil

From there, what @Daves300 said will work.

Pin 4 is jumpered to pin 10 and pin6 is jumpered to pin 8.

my led strip has two wires out from it.
one is going to ground and the other is going to pin 3.
I understand that I am supposed to make the LED strip light work the same as the fog lights but how do i do this with this current switch?

Connect the 2 out going wires for the light bar together
Set the switch to where you want the fog lights to come on and select the proper output wire.

Edit: select the proper input/ output pair from the other 3 wires.

Edit again. Doing it this way requires no changes to the wiring. Your just adding one more wire to a splice you've already made.
I've been way over thinking this up until now...
    Good luck

I have this figured out (in my head)
Here is a diagram of the switch to help better understand how it functions.
    images.jpg
Where I get stuck on this is being able to use the illumination circuit to power the switch leds (without back feeding 12V into the illum circuit).
