I'll say that my Viper has put up with quite a bit, no failures yet. It could have more features, but it does carry easily.

interesting. I've seen info saying its the same as the DPP/Romeo Pro. I've got my name on a waiting list, so when they arrive, I'll hopefully get a call and go check it out.

    I GOT IT BACK!!

After 23 years missing, where I thought some military contract-movers stole it, I got the pistol my grandfather brought back from WW II.

Background: My grandmother passed away 1996. My grandfather gave me a lot of furniture and heirlooms, one of which was a CZ-27 pistol he took off a POW in WW II, complete with Nazi markings on the pistol and the holster. In 1997, I joined the Army, and my first duty station was Germany, so I had everything put in military long term storage. I couldn’t find the gun ANYWHERE. I searched my parents house and my in-laws house, thinking I might have left the pistol with one of them while I was Germany, and devastated anytime I thought about it. I was convinced that the military movers had stolen the box with the pistol in it. My grandfather passed away in 2018, and I never could bring myself to tell him I lost the pistol. Last week my stepfather passed away, and while going through business records and just all kinds of papers in his home office, there in a drawer was my grandfathers pistol. I just couldn’t believe he had it all these years! I will never know why he didn’t tell me he had it, but I’m so glad to have this priceless family heirloom back.

Anyone know how to figure out the age/value of an old pistol? Or have any info on this one?

Just start asking the Google. Search all those words on the pistol and you should find info. Even those proof marks tell a story.

Ah yes I'm seeing that too. Not much info out there.

I got several guns from my father not too long ago. Included was this Walther P1 made in 1964. I was luckier than you finding info on the interwebs. A P1 is that same thing as a P38 except for military and police issue. After researching the serial number, it appears this gun was a West German police issue 9mm. It was imported to the US at some point in the 90s I believe. The front sight is weirdly too tall. You have to completely cover the target with the front sight to hit what you're aiming at. Apparently, they did this so the individual user could file it down to their preference.
