Bought the 3 ton jack stands 3 weeks ago. The cashier asked me if i wanted to buy the warranty. I told him, "No thanks, if this thing breaks I'm dead anyways right? Haha"
    He didn't laugh....

So I own the 6 ton version of the jack stands.
They are stored on the side of my garage, and the paper sticker has fallen off over the yrs of me owning them so there is no item #.

Are they still going to replace them?

Good call. I have a set of the 61196. Guess it's time to return them and get 6 ton ones instead.

All this talk about jack stands makes me wonder if anyone knows of any full "through pin" type jack stands that are still around? Maybe the "through pin" is my problem...I don't know what to call them to search for them. But I'm talking about 2 pieces of pipe or square tubing, one slides inside another, with holes in them to put a pin into when you get it as high as you want it. I don't need these quick adjust BS things...I've got 30 seconds to get something set so I KNOW it won't "accidentally" come down.

Any ideas? Links? What to really call something like that? Maybe the ones I've seen are all homemade so maybe that's the answer....make my own. I dunno.

Holy shit, I have a pair and, like everyone else, have had the weigh of half the truck on them. WT actual F! I also have their Daytona floor jack, recall for that in the future? I have had enough of HF. I will no longer purchase from them. Too many stories of returns, burned out grinder motors, dull drill bits, etc. I'll have to start looking for tools made in USA.
I know, I know, just because its made here does not mean products won't fail and be recalled, but enough of sending my dollars off-shore.
( Sorry everyone, don't mean to get on a soap box )
Thanks for posting the recall here, I may never have learned of it otherwise!!!

Or is there a downside of getting rid of the quick adjust that I'm not thinking of?

When I replaced a front stripped wheel stud I bought the 3 ton HF jack stands just for this, but added an extra level of safety by putting the tire under the frame too, but luckily my jack stands aren't part of this recall.

But, but, but Harbor Freight has a lifetime replacement warranty!?! After the jack stands fail and the truck crushes you to death, they will replace them for free! /s

It seems my healthy distrust of harbor freight tools paid off. It’s always been a rule of mine, no jacks or stands from HF. Nothing that supports weight.

Try searching for "pin style" or "pin type". I think the closest I've seen, if I understand you correctly, were from Hein Werner and those were 10-ton. I'll bet others make similar ones since HW isn't the cheapest option.

Thanks brother, I'll look. I think I've searched pin style before, but it's been a while since it crossed my mind anyway. I'll look again.

I'm ok with 10 ton as long as the height fits. Overkill...sure, but I'm ok with that. Instead of jackstands, I've been known to use wood timbers, but they are HEAVY and kinda a pain in the ass. (they use them at work to hold up off road haul trucks...100 tons sometimes. Well when they're no good for 100T, I figure they're still good for my 2 tons, so I "dispose" of them lol)
