2020 tacoma sr5 non jbl wiring diagram

I am also installing a LOC and want to tap into factory wiring. By going off the speaker wire explanation and colors, I'm still having trouble finding the remote wire on back of the radio. Help Please! Thanks!

 

I will pull my radio out tomorrow and get a picture of the 12v ignition switch wire that I used behind the radio. I will also get pics of the reverse camera wire for others that want anytime camera.

 

After trial and error I found the connection point. I grounded to truck body and ran power to dark blue wire.

 

The loc I used had a separate remote wire that I was initially told not to use and then told to use it so no need to find it on mine.

 

that blue wire you're spliced in to is constant 12v

thanks for the info - i bought the same LOC rubenz had, which i now know is wrong. the camry harness will work for me because right now all i'm doing is adding a JL audio stealthbox sub (access cab single 10 inch in the jump seat center console) and the amp for it will turn on with line-in signal so i wont have to hunt for a remote source.

just to clarify though: in post #17 where you kindly provided a link for the harness, the link was altered? edited? censored? whatever we want to call it - the website you meant to share was taco tunes, yes?

I just ordered from Amazon instead, this LOC + wiring harness appears to have a remote wire in the kit. I'll keep ya'll informed. I was ready to purchase from taco tunes, but didn't want to have to worry about the remote wire source coming from the fuse box with an adapter.

 

I figured, just wanted to make sure because I haven't even made my first payment on the truck and I'm starting to accumulate a pile of spare parts that wont work because I order things from mod threads before we realize that the 2020's are just a little different. Thanks for your input on this and everywhere else - I see your name pop up in all sorts of audio threads keeping us hobbyists from getting too far off track with our fumbling around by sharing your knowledge and time to write things up for us. Thank you for doing that.

I just ordered a 2018 Camry wire harness because 2018+ indicates to me that they're all the same so it shouldn't matter. If this works, it'll be perfect for me because the amp I'm using has Hi level auto-on inputs meaning I don't have to establish a remote wire to turn it on, it will just turn on when the head unit starts sending signals to the speakers. The LOC you ordered from Amazon looks like the one I ordered but with a whole extra loom on it. Thats way bigger and more involved looking than the one I got so hopefully its an upgrade that will work for the 2020's. I'm close to having everything I need and a couple weeks away from having the time to put it all in. I'm doing a lightbar, bed lights, rear work lights, sound deadening, and this JL audio stealthbox single sub install all at once so I'll update when its all in and working or be back looking for more help soon

 

If you are using a LOC, the auto-turn-on won’t work (for most amps)

 

no, sorry, what I meant there is that his looks better than the LOC i had ordered but the one I ordered wont work at all because its the same as post#10. I have since ordered the TT Camry add a sub harness which basically just looks like a quality speaker wire splice. No other added electronics.

Completed the install, This adapter worked perfectly and fits!

By the way, this harness taps into the front speakers

Thanks for this! Does the remote wire on this adapter trigger the amp off and on as well? Any problems or issues with sound/clarity? Getting ready to order this ASAP!

 

So far great! Adjust your sub-woofer amp settings. At least i did in order for my sub-woofer to sound fairly nice with stock speakers and headunit. So far its great, no issues, plug and play.

Keep in mind, that the LOC taps into the front speakers.


Yes, the Remote Wire will turn on and off the amp.
