Just bought my first Toyota Truck.
I’ve had 2 Jeeps and 4 Ford trucks in the past that I’ve lifted and done other fun stuff with them.

my goals with this truck is primarily to make it look nice and still drive well. I will do minimal off road with the vehicle, and nothing major even when I am off road.

from reading this forum, there are a bunch of people a whole lot smarter than I am

I plan to put a suspension lift on this. Looking at 4” rough country lift.
Does anyone have input on this? Different brand that may be better 3” vs 4”?

I then Plan on replacing the wheels and tires. Currently has 17” wheels. Should I stay at 17”.
And my understanding is that 32/33 is probably the biggest tire you can do without more significant work.

If you want it to ride nice avoid rough country and 4” lift

2-3” is plenty and it’ll still ride nice instead of like a dump truck

Do you have a lift kit (brand) that you’d recommend to keep the ride nice. (At 2-3”)

depends on your budget. Bilstein 5100 with OME coils will do all that you need for a good price.

bilstein 6112 front 5160 rear are a step up, and also very budget friendly, just a little more.

Fox 2.0 front and rear is another great option, again a little more.

Fox 2.5 front 2.0 rear is quite a bit more expensive, but loads of adjustability and performance.

At the top end, there is also King, Elka, or ADS. They each have their ups and downs.

really depends on your goals. 265/70R17 is the biggest you can go without making cuts. 285s require cuts.

Like mentioned above. Go with a 3 inch lift and look into some 295s. Keep the 17” wheels if they clear the control arms.

285s usually require cutting, some wheels and trucks (each has slight variances) get lucky. But you’re looking at getting at least a cab mount chop (CMC).

295s are wider, don’t listen to this guy.

Another option is 255/80/17 a tall N skinny tire it’ll fit the stock rims won’t rub at full lock possibly the front mud flaps.

It seems like he’s going for looks!!

I have 255/85s on mine because I didn’t care for looks.

i also agree, avoid drop bracket lifts and get yourself a nice 2-3" suspension lift. Stick closer to 2" if you dont want to shell out extra money for aftermarket UCAs. A tall skinny tire will also rub a lot less than a wider tire, so take that into consideration if you dont want to cut/hammer/trim.

I have 295s on 17s and they rub everything. About 3" of lift up front, 4.85" backspacing wheels, and they rub the LCAs, UCAs, and frame rail in the rear of the front fender well. I had a cmc done and i beat the pinch weld flat. They also argue with the fender flares from time to time. If your heart is stuck on 285s or wider tires, a 4.5" backspacing or less wheel will keep the rubbing on the UCAs & LCAs at bay, but then they will be pushed out a little further and interfere with the cab mount, pinch weld, and fender liners. It's all a game of give and take

    Cheers and welcome aboard:cheers:
