Yeah, I’m going to check those serial numbers.

Thanks OP for the heads up.

I’m a little tipsy and this picture REALLY fucked with me for a moment, having the tire in front of the grille. Thanks for that.

LOL, do you even have stickers on those still to check the part numbers?

I can't even imagine how many of these stands are out in the wild. It must be many millions at this point, unless they only used this supplier for a short time.

In all fairness this happens often with anything. That being said I was just about to purchase 2- 6 ton and maybe a jack.

I can see how that might do that.

These are pretty old. I’m hoping the serial number is stamped.

Ooo can you reveal any reccomendations for stands and a jack? I can't really find much out there anymore for stands or Jack's. It is the same 4 companies unless you drop 400+ on a jack

If it's a serial number you are hoping to find in lieu of a part number you will be lucky to find one. If there is one it probably has the same serial number as the other 10M other jack stands that factory produced because it was too expensive to change the number.

Just checked mine. Looks like I’m ok, aside from pinching the shit out of my finger “testing” it by pushing down and jiggling the lever like a dumbass...

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
2x. When it comes to safety/things that kill, I go quality over price.

LOL, forgive my snide comments. I didn't realize they had sold those jacks in yellow(ish) and that one looked 100% rusted to me so I assumed it didn't have a sticker anymore.

If the price seems too good to be true...there are likely shortcuts in design or mfg. I'd stay away from HF products with safety risk. Do yourself and your kin a favor.

Man I’ve had those since the early 2000’s. Lots of welding slag and paint on those bad boys.

I would be lying to you if I wasn’t surprised a sticker was still on them.

They're offering a gift card. I guess I'll get 4 jack stands worth of zip ties, because I'm certainly not buying more jack stands from them.

Mine were on the recall, they gave me a new set that has a different part number, looks like the old one except it appears to be a tighter fit where the pieces join together.

Generally it's best to never even walk into that Shit hole known as Harbor Freight. I gave them a few chances, and quickly saw what they were about. I can be a cheap ass at times but Jack Stands?
Please save the stories about what you got away with, I know 2 guys into that Junk and I have to buy stuff for my employer on occasion from HF. I forwarded this recall to my friend who was trying to convince me to buy an expensive floor jack from Harbor Freight this morning. I told him I'd sooner pay someone to work on all my cars before I used a Harbor Freight anything to fix them myself.
