Fox Life!!! Anything Related to Fox Suspension

Yesterday the line on my rear shock 2.0 w/ remote (no adj. resi) Took a Sh*!. Started leaking really for no apparent reason. (Maybe 2k miles on them) No rubbing, no flexing, and definitely no abuse. I can't for the life of me figure it out. It's not loose. I checked. Lost all the fluid on my garage floor. Bottom line... Hose leaked. Gotta send it in for warranty work. So, looking for a replacement in the meantime, as it's my DD. I'm not against buying a brand new one and having a spare in the end. Just looking for the best deal I can find. Anyone have one laying around? Or, know where there is a great deal on picking up a new single replacement?

Anyone have a Fox Lift and replace their coil with something to enable a 3" lift and handle weight of some armor?

if you are looking to stick with the pro fox oem suspension. i am replacing my 1 month old trd pro fox suspension less than 500 miles next week. will sell it as a set though

 

may i ask what you are replacing it with. i dont think i will stick with fox, got an email out to fox for a replacement coil, but dont expect to hear back.
what would equal the ride quality of my current Pro fox front setup, thanks

going with 33 tires and bigger offset. don't want to use spacer to achieve 3" and the one that i will get is the coilover with resevoir and adjustable dsc

 

Been watching this fox thread (Along with some others) for a while now. Gotta say, I'm inches from pulling the trigger on the 2.0 setup. I haven't gotten a solid answer yet so I thought I would just ask. Straight out of the box without any adjustments, are you guys running a differential drop to offset any positive angles on your CV's? My understanding is that out of the box will provide roughly 1' of lift, doesn't seem like it would require a differential drop but unsure on how much the 2.0 setup will affect the CV angles.

Other question, are you guys running any rear lift option when just using the 2.0's out of the box without any adjustment? Looking for a level stance since I don't tow or put much weight in the bed. Thanks!

 

Just to play devil's advocate, if you're looking at the 2.0 fox's, have you also looked into the bilstien 6112/5160?

 

Yeah I've looked at that setup, and ran 5100's on my first gen for over 6 years. Mostly curious in trying another manufacturer, I also remember the 5100's being pretty stiff (Eventhough the 6112/5160 would probably be a little more forgiving than the 5100's.)

 

The 6112 have a 60mm piston vs what is probably around a 43mm piston for the fox. Plus paired with the 5160 in the rear with the resi might be a better route for that price point.

Fox will try to push the ifp but it's still a 2.0. I think a lot of that goes to brand at that level for them. It's stuff over recently looked into for a sole purpose trail truck.

I don't think I'd go fox until their 2.5 line. Just a personal preference.

 

Thanks for the points you provided, all makes sense. I believe with the type of driving I do the 2.0's would be more than adequate.

Won't need a duff drop. A carrier bearing drop is used at higher lifts

 

@Tyler Andrews the 2.0s are a pain to adjust because a spring compressor is needed due to them being aluminum and will destroy the shock without compressing the spring. If your looking for adjustability i highly recommend the 2.5s being as you can adjust them easily on the vehicle and get them right where you want. I am a bit biased seeing as I have the 2.5s but a big reason I went with them was to be able to fine tune the suspension to the height and ride quality I am looking for at any given time. My truck sits pretty level with the setup I have and where I have it set and the ride is amazing. Hey there boys and girls, I thought I'd join the party. I'm in the process of getting a FOX 2.5 kit together. Tell me I'm making a fantastic choice... I'll be combining them with Dirt King Uppers and Lowers in the front.

I only offer opinion based on my hrs of research and reading on this forum but if it helps I'm happy. Also thank you on the compliment. I have spent alot of time along with put a hurtin on the wallet but all well worth it in my eyes. It is slowly becoming all of what I wanted it to be from the day I bought it so it feels pretty good. Just know whatever you do go with we all wanna see some pics of the newly lifted taco

 

@419DewMort17 Fantastic choice . What made you want to go with the dirt king upper and lowers out of curiosity? Also like I said to @Tyler Andrews make sure you post up pics when you get the everything installed. Always enjoy seeing all the different setups and sharing the joy of having the best trucks on the road

 

Jumped in on a group buy I found on this forum. Also, I had Total chaos uppers on my 3rd gen 4runner and I absolutely hated them. Going with dirt kings and fox because, you know.. go big or go home.

 

Gotta love this forum for them group buys for sure,helps us all save money . You say go big or go home does that mean you are going with the dirt king long travel kit? I have seen a few long travel setups and it seems kickass but was a bit out of my price range for everything needed to put it together. If you are going that route props to you and that is for sure gonna ride smooth over the whoops. What size wheel and tire are you planning for your lift.
