I did manage to hopefully finish beefing up my rear shackle hangers for the last time.

Used some leftover 1/4” wall from my sliders.

And mount my old compressor in the wife’s 4runner.

Couple questions - were those square tubes hrew in your slides? Can I see how you attached the extension to your HF jack - been planning on how to make one too and not spend like $100 for a pro eagle one which may still not be high enough.

Yes my new sliders are all hrew, but all 1/4” wall so much stronger than .120” wall DOM.

And without pulling everything apart, the bottom of my extension has a plate welded to it with a hole in the center. E2857765-49E7-49F5-99A3-982BEAE460C1.jpg

I replaced the pin with circlips with this hitch pin and then the green circled pin that normally holds the circular base plate drops down through my extension and holds it in place.

Well... not using the stimulus check, but had a feeler on my current axles and got called out. Time to worry less about axles with the 37’s...maybe

I bet it took you longer to find or whip up that meme than it took to purchase those axles

Haha found the meme yesterday so technically no since working out the current axle sales took a few hours. I did make an RCV account and have the axles in the cart about halfway though working out the selling details though

Edit: if you need more pics of the jack mount and extension setup I can get them this weekend. Just let me know.

Little updates and a laundry list of little things I’ve been trying to work on.

First, I added some hood louvers and moved my intake a little to try and lower intake air temps since they jumped up about 40 degrees in warm weather since doing the engine cage.

And got my tune updated with some minor tweaks and an extra spicy trans tune. Truck runs better than ever.

Next is some much needed wiring tidying up. Top=new, bottom=old.
Painless wiring fuse block and no more bundles of wiring and 5 power wires bolted to the battery terminals.

    9CDFEC3B-9643-4CE9-8724-B0BB87635BDA.jpg

Boo on the front end work though as I found out both headlights have broken tabs and one is leaking. Guess I need to start saving for that and make some better tabs off the cage for the new ones.

Started on some tail light housings that will house KC Cyclones for new tail lights.

    ED3AFED5-08D8-4799-9592-DE41FE9058E7.jpg

Also on the to do list is to fix/ add more rock lights and connect them to the new fuse block.

Wire the amber turn signals with a secondary switch and maybe a strobe unit to act as chase lights as well.

Last but not least is to freshen up the rear suspension.

What gauge are you using to make the tail light housings?

I've seen awesome retrofits using various off-road led pods in housings - the metal case just makes the most sense if it's gonna get beat on - I wonder if headlights could be fitted with at least some s2's or s1's for high beams :notsure:

That may be a bit much for headlights lol. But I like your spirit. Headlights will probably just get replaced by these.

Not a bad price for projectors - I'm not into retrofitting lights myself due to time and money not to mention working with plastic isn't my best skill. My MO is get moderately nice housings and spend more on aux which is easier to change and upgrade lol

Exactly. These aren’t too much more than just some standard replacements and should be a nice upgrade. Still need something for cornering lights though

My sheet metal work isn’t the best, but I managed to get one done and wrapped in some extra vinyl I had laying around.

Headlights came in and got installed. I should probably aim them and check how bright they are later tonight. had my buddies shop throw a 10yr clear paint protection film over them too. We’ll see how that goes.

New on board dual Viar compressors should be here any moment as well. Tracking has shown the damn ups driver circling my house for the last 2 hours

Few little add ins for the truck in the last week or so.

Twin Viair 425c compressors got installed behind the bedside and in the little cubby. Took one tire from dead flat to road psi in 3.5 min.

And added a little storage box to the top of the bed cage for easy access to recovery items, air hose, impact and what not.

If you don’t mind, could you post a picture of the underside of the hood with the louvers? I’m debating it to help cool things down. Have you noticed any difference after installing them?
