You can do parts of the DBBB, just don't go alone, or without recovery gear.

Look up Slade on youtube, or SFWDA, or Red River Gorge.

So this coming late September I'm planning on doing the entire KAT if some of you want to tag along to the DBBB section you're more than welcome. I recommend that that you a lift and at least 31s. More people the better. Safety in numbers.

Yeah I want to give people enough time to get the days off and make it happen. It's always more fun with a group.

I'm pretty sure I'll be heading to DBNF this weekend for some dispersed camping. This will be my first time there and was curious if it is like LBL, where you just explore the trails until you find a clearing/fire ring.

This weekend would not be ideal to leave pavement alone. We're seeing close to an inch of rain this week.

To really answer your question; yes and no. There are marked and designated dispersed camp spots, normally hike-in access only. There are a few trail camp spots as well, but you gotta wheel to get there mostly, at least where myself and a few others have been.

Thanks for the info @dirty deeds . I have been watching the weather and knew it would be iffy. I'm attending a wilderness class in Winchester on Saturday and was hoping to make a weekend of it, but the camping can wait until the trails dry out a bit.

I did spaas creek last year with my slightly lifted mostly stock offroad 2016 and it kicked my ass...... not gonna lie lol

I did the first two segments of Horse Lick Creek Rd. this year after a shit load of rain, but it was much better than spaas. spaas seemed so rough lol

For the DBBB, it should be 31" MTs with some armor and self-recovery options, are suggested.

Which is why it's on most our lists for top places to wheel, never know just what you'll find in the gorge!
