Chrome deletion (vent rings, dash/console kit) and red TRD start button a la MESO Customs last night. What a difference.

The clear on most Toyota's is very thin. I used to remove the pinstripes from my FJ all the time and it took a few times to get it just right on how much pressure you could apply before doing any damage. I always go with a slow speed on my DA polisher and take the time rather then go far and risk burning the cc.

 

Just picked one up also from the dealer. With shipping it worked out about the same and no waiting. Gonna install over the 3 day weekend. Need stuff to do. That is if it ever stops raining.

 

Looks great. You obviously enjoy doing this otherwise you would just buy one.
Here is the barrage of questions:
Did you have a pattern or wing it?
How much time do you have in it so far?
Were the materials readily available?
What is the weight of this compared to one that is consumer market available?
Will this be able to support items on the roof?
How much do you figure it will cost once completed?
Would you do this again?

Nice! Took me around 15 min to install. Gonna have to open wallet to eat up more time haha. I’m considering replacing my OEM LED fog lights with some Amber LED’s .

 

Hey y'all, those with a camper shell and a rack on the top of it, what hardware are you utilizing to secure it to the camper? Having a hard time finding this as I am building my own version?

Sounds good, I’ll let you know if I make swap. The stock LED’s are really nice and clean/ crisp. I’m just thinking amber would be nice extra. I’ll keep you posted .

 

Yeah I’ve got the halogens in this 17.. they’re okay but would love to upgrade for longevity

Thanks for the reminder ... ! I liked the other one because it kind of fades away ... I wouldn't want to be an asshole with a gasshole! . It might also be a mod that is easiest enough for me to handle without screwing up.

 

Not yet. I started cutting out the plastic shelving with a multi oscillating tool before work but ran out of time. I plan on having it done for test fit this week. Only thing that worries me is the bracket for the fold down seat I did not account for. I think it will fit or worst case may have to be kinda leaning on it.

 

Yeah mine is size small, I think the dlx would fit better, I had to pull mine down to fit over the tailgate handle so the backup camera could still work. The small works fine just have to adjust it some, and not sure how well the velcro straps will work how I have it set up, but I dont feel the need to use the straps anyways so works for me.

 

What did you do to your gas cap?....looks cool!
