First night in the RTT at a local SP. Little too firm for me, but she loves it. Just going to get a backpacking pad for my side.

Which bars are those and how much were they? Looking for a cheaper solution than a 700+ bed rack.

This is probably the only other angle I've got at the moment. The tent sits about 8.5 inches above the diamondback cover, and the tent is around 6 inches from the back of the cab. I can open the front window, but the front awning needs a bungee attached to something if you wanna use it because the rod would hit the cab.

I kind of wish I went a little lower with my rack looking at that. But I wanted room for activities. Being able to reach the cover when putting away would be nice. Looks good.

I wanted to keep it below the cab line to help with mpg and protect a little.

Just ordered a 23Zero Walkabout 62 earlier this week. Cannot wait to join the club! Always wanted a roof top tent ever since I first saw one. Too bad tent won't be here till mid July :(:(:(. Can't come fast enough! I'm about 3/4 through this whole thread haha. What a good group of people! And waaay too many good ideas!

Quick question for anyone who has a newer 23Zero that has the waterproof liner on the mattress. Do you still add a condensation matt? Is it necessary? I just worry about mold with the "waterproof" mattress cover. Even if it doesn't soak up water won't it still stay damp underneath it? Can't imagine that would be a good thing. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

I’m just randomly thinking here about Thursday night. It’s supposed to rain all night. So Friday morning, just put the tent away wet? Will I get any interior seeping? Should I take my bedding out?

you shouldnt get any seeping. If you wanted to, you could lightly spray the tent down now.. kind of like a pre-treatment test.

Try to dry it out as much as you can. If you cant dry it for your whole trip, dry/air it out as soon as you can when you get home. I try to by at least a week, and for an hour or 2. I also carry a shammy towel in the truck if it rained overnight, but dry in the morning.

...And with that, we'd arrived. High along the ridge of the Pueblo Mountains, the 75-year old remains of a WWII plane, that crashed on February 2, 1945 - a clear night - scattered across the landscape. Eleven crew members lost their lives. A few years ago, a group of adventure motorcycle riders placed a plaque at the site to remember the brave men who gave their lives for our country....

The only option is to rotate it to open to the rear. It is symmetrical, so I would have the same issue whether going to driver or passenger. It works, and the bars I added for protection work well as steps when stowing. Eventually I'll add a roof rack and have something to bungee the last window to.
