Current camping options?

I am supposed to be heading out tomorrow to meet up with some buddies. However, it seems that all BLM land is closed still. Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to camp? I hope we are not SOL...

 

San Juan and Emery BLM land is open for camping: commercial campgrounds in Grand are open as well.
Spanish Valley/Behind The Rocks are San Juan and probably your closest legal free option: if you want to explore the Swell Emery is I-70 west of Green River.

My last time out in Moab I stayed at area bfe(5years ago when they still ran on donations). I considered that a more than acceptable distance from town not being too far. Any idea how far from town the camp sites in Spanish valley or behind the rocks are from town in relation to area bfe?

 

Area BFE is directly across the street (191) from Behind the Rocks.
Both of those areas are at the southern edge of Spanish Valley: depending on how far off the road you are you should be equivalent time or closer.

There is a private campground at the end of gemini bridges in the screen shot here. I stayed there in nov 19 and we were the only trucks there. Put money in box, nice spots and porta shittaz close

 

We ended up camping up in the Manti-La Sal National forest. Pretty drastic temperature change from down in Moab to our spot, making sleeping at night a little uncomfortable, but we had incredible views. Many people were camping in campgrounds that were clearly not to be used. We still had a great time! Will definitely be back again and can hopefully camp in town.

Yeah, much cooler. We would leave moab to head to our spot and the temperature would drop by about 20 degrees as we were heading up.

 

Hahaha. Good too know, I live in the “mountains” In the north east. I prefer cooler temps if it’s an option lol
