Didn’t receive the notice, but have found that I have both the 3 and 6 ton sets which fall under the recall. Too bad we can only get a gift card rather than a refund. Going with USA built for my next sets, obviously not from HF. Thanks for posting OP.

I returned mine yesterday and they did not have the updated ones in store so I ordered online.

I'd argue as long as the welds look good and square, and it has decent teeth, you should be good. There are "cheap" models with a second locking pin as well. I bought these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074R17GL4 You rarely see an Amazon item with a 5-star rating.

The one's they are recalling clearly fail these requirements.

Drooled over these for a bit, but $190 is just so damn much for two stands.

I had some time to do a little digging on those brands mentioned out of curiosity.

    OTC - https://www.usa-autotools.com/2012/02/09/otc-tools-american-made/

"Much of the OTC tool line-up is manufactured in the USA, however they do have operations in China as well as other parts of the world."

GRAY - Those are Canadian. "Gray Tools is a Canadian professional tool company based in Brampton, Ontario. "

HW - they've changed operations and aren't USA made. "assembled in the US from domestic and imported components"

    https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=252642

For reference, the ones I linked are 100% sourced and assembled in the USA, at least according to their websites. Does any of this really matter? To some, maybe. I never gave this sort of stuff any thought until COVID kicked off. Now I'm trying to buy American when I can.

edit: Plus they have a double pawl locking design, which I like.

The fact you called Gray tools American, when a google search shows they're Canadian makes me question your knowledge on what is and isn't made in American tools. That's all.

Ahh, see that would have been useful information in your initial reply rather than simply saying "GRAY". Thank you, I will look at those. No need to get in a tizzy over there.

I took my jack stands in to Harbor Freight yesterday... 2 sets of 6-ton and 1 set of 3-ton jack stands. Got a little over $100 back. Once they get more of the 6-ton ones in stock that aren't affected by the recall, I intend on grabbing a couple sets again.

Cash or gift card? I already bought replacements, but still need to return the recalled ones.
