I hope you both read that the way I intended... Fully in sarcastic jest. I wish my keyboard had a sarcasm font.

Matt, do you see an undefeated SEC team being left out of the NC game twice, if Auburn were to win out? To me it looks like thats what is going to happen. I think Auburn falls to #3 in the BCS after this weekend. JMHO and you know what they say about opinions. I think the only thing Auburn can do now is just play ball week to week. Whatever happens, happens.

It won't happen. Auburn could fall to #3 in the BCS this weekend when either Utah/TCU beats the other, but Auburn still has to play Alabama and a SECC. If Auburn wins out, they'll jump back up to at least #2, and that's all that matters.

I believe that Alabama will be in the game if we win out, and we have a loss. If I believe that....

I certainly believe Auburn goes to the game if they win out. There will be plenty of jokes by Alabama fans if auburn falls from the top 2 spots after this weekend, but don't worry about it. Just keep winning and there is ZERO chance an undefeated SEC Champ (and that can only be AU this year) doesn't go to Glendale.

I think people can bitch and moan and find arguments on both sides of sending a 1-loss SEC Champ to the big game over an undefeated Boise or TCU/Utah, but there is no argument for sending one of those teams to the game over an undefeated SEC Champ.

Yea I think all Auburn can do is take it week by week. Our toughest test will be you guys for sure. It's going to be one of the best Iron bowls in a long time. If Auburn manages to get to the SECC game, we will likely be playing a team that we have already played. That might hurt Auburn in the BCS i would think. I disagreed with you a few weeks back on it being good if Alabama wins out. I wanted LSU to beat you guys:anonymous:. But now, I think its in Auburns best interest for you guys to win. We really need Alabama ranked high if we want a shot. I see your logic on that now. :D

You can still hope for LA State to win if you want. Y'all don't need anything to get into the game. If you win out, you're there, whether we beat LA State or not.

If we win out, I hope we see So Carolina in the SECC. I think it would be better to avenge a loss than to trounce Florida again.

Now that would be a good revenge game!!!!! I would have to say the outcome would be way different than the first time!

    I sure hope so.

Looks like we want the same thing.

Now... Do you want it b/c you think Auburn would be tougher to beat, or do you just want to see Oregon play Bama for some reason?

I want Oregon to play against the VERY best there is and I feel both SEC teams would offer a tough challenge... I think Alabama is a better team than Auburn all around... Alabama has had a schedule from hell and Auburn's Defense has looked a little suspect at times. They are both great teams and I want to play a SEC team in the NCG not a NAQ team... As much as I would love to kick BSU back to Boise, I would rather the Ducks play the very best that the SEC has to offer, and I feel it will be Alabama when the dust settles...

    Good Luck & GO DUCKS!!

    I agree 100%

I wish I could see Oregon vs. Boise State on a neutral field w/ a month to prepare, though. It shouldn't be the NC game, but that matchup would be FUN to watch.

I wouldn't say Bama's schedule is a schedule from hell. If so, then Auburn's is just as hard if not harder. Auburn's opponent record 44-30, Bama's 30-35. Florida is in no way a powerhouse like they have been and Tennessee is dreadful. Yea Auburn's D needs alot of work but when your offense can score in the 50's you don't need a Defense. Oregon has proved that the same way Auburn has. Oregon's strength of schedule ranking is 101st, Alabama's is 74th, and Auburn is 9th.

Of course all that really matters is whether you win or lose on saturday and all of these rankings are opinions anyway.

Yeah... I hate that Florida decided to suck this year. A 31-3 ass whipping in Tuscaloosa looked good until the gators decided to lay eggs the next two weeks to LA State and MSU, both at home.

Same with Penn State. Thought that would be a feather in our cap... but not so much. Glad they beat Michigan this week, though. I'm glad for Joe Pa that he'll get to 400 wins this season.

My comments about the toughness of our schedule is really based on what's remaining from today. At LA State, MSU at home, GA State at home (who cares?), and Auburn at home, all ranked in the BCS (except GA St, of course). At least we have two of three big games at home... we've had to go on the road to Arky and SC, and only went 50/50 in those games.

AU's remaining schedule is UT Chat, Georgia at home, then a week off before playing at Alabama.

So, what I was saying is that Bama has to play 3 BCS top 25 teams between now and the end, and Auburn has to play just one. Of course, AU has already played a few that we have coming up, so Bama's schedule overall isn't tougher.

Where did you get the strength of schedule info? A quick google search didn't get it for me.

Yea Bama does have a tough stretch coming up. I'm looking for the link. My boss told me he found it searching bcs and harris polls??? Might have been scout.com not sure. I'm looking as well. He is gone but I will get the link for ya. If not I will insert my foot in my bosses mouth. :)

I'm selfishly hoping for a Utah victory on Saturday, but I don't really hate TCU.

Actually, I don't hate TCU... I like TCU's program and think they just need to step up to BIG12! I'm pulling for Utah since they're going to be in the PAC12 next year!
