Mine are in the recall and I’m already bummed about working on my own truck. Just let me live.
Saw it on your thread. Informative, thanks for spreading. Hashbrown Hero. It’s important!

I give it the ole M. J. Fox, but shakes are unpredictable. Better safe than squashed.

One reason I like my pair from northern tool, they have a safety block that slides through the stand body and engages the teeth along with the normal catch mechanism.

The teeth on these HF lifting posts look quite shallow. Even on the HF ones that are deemed OK. The teeth on my Craftsman set seem a lot deeper giving much more positive engagement on the pawl.

HF/Northern Tool def have their place as long as you are aware of what you are buying. I buy plenty of so what stuff like wire brushes, air hose fittings, microfibers, hose nozzles...etc... But I shy away from anything my life depends on most of the time unless I can tell its a good product. I forget the name but one of the HF house brand air tools actually make the air tools for some larger name brands. They just end up recased and rebadged.

Being wise would not be buying chinese junk jack stands when you're getting underneath a vehicle lol. Ya'll are shortcutting the wrong things.

Another thing Ive always done if im pulling the wheels off (im usually on ramps instead of jackstands if the wheels arent coming off) is toss the wheel/tire underneath the frame rail. Doesnt keep the stand from failing but it'll keep the car from going all the way to the ground.

    Anyone seen my wallet?
Are recalls isolated to only Chinese companies?

Shortcutting on cheap products that may fail even without a recall just aren't worth it. Is saving $15 on a pair of jack stands worth an increased chance of getting your skull smashed like a grape? Like @Xplosiv said, go buy some cheap stuff that won't harm or potentially kill you, that makes sense.
