Enough to make it a lot of fun!
I ran this set up for a long time. I would strongly encourage not putting the gas in bed. That was a the big pain to get to with camp gear in the bed as well. I ended up switching to a plano storage box for all my tools and cv axle. i have fluids and other spare parts in a rubber made box but might switch to front runner wolf pack boxes. I am finding I need to slim down on what I carry in the truck, to open up space in the bed. I have recently added a girlfriend and a second dog to the truck. Bed storage is an always evolving endeavor.

If you end up going this route, when I put the straps to the round hooks I didn't put any reinforcement for the plastic to i ended up pulling the round hooks through the box. So I just recommend putting a piece of flat stock on the inside of the box to help distribute the force on the box wall.

I would just be storing my second battery and some recovery gear in the box. I have it separated now. Im just trying to streamline my storage. I may try it out and see how it works for me. I guess id have to figure out how to secure the box in the bed

I have a bottle jack/jack stand combo, some boots, and recovery gear. In addition to a blue sea fuse panel and group 24 battery to go into the plano.

edit: I recently added the girlfriend mod too. Gotta get a little more creative with an Access Cab too!

I think a medium sized action packer would do great for you. I would just bolt it to the bed floor, that way you know it is secure and don't have to worry about your battery flying around in the bed.

I have this already. This is what I wanted to attempt to repurpose. Just need to see if the jack stand bottle jack will fit. It looks like it will

Ya my big hang up with the plano is the price. If you plan on cutting it up why spend the money on it. But that is just my my opinion. My action packers have been beat up on the trips that I do.

I just need some ventilation for the battery and for the wires to go inside. Currently the battery is in its own box, which has been cut. But then again it was $25.

Ya it is just a guessing game and trial and error. Looks like it should work. If you can I would also bolt it horizontally as well so you can take as much force out of play as possible.

Ya $25 isn't a BFD. You could easily just buy some luvers to create the ventilation and the get some grommets for your wiring and drill some holes.

That's the packed box dimension for shipping purposes. The extrusions are 47 inches across so about 47.5 outside to outside. I don't know the front to back dimension but it'll be close to 55 inches. Should be ~4.5 inches tall measured at the side plate above the B Pillar as I recall
