Well she's at work, the kids asleep, and my trucks still not off the damn jackstands yet. :annoyed::redxfall:

That last emoji is half broken for me. I'd imagine it's a truck on harbor freight jackstands that fell down after shaking it :notsure:

I also just ordered two sets of these. Will report on quality when I receive them. Really glad I didn't go with HF.

But how are these "made in China" jack stands really any different than HF "made in China" jack stands?

Like most stuff from China it's made just branded at one of a few factories. So good chance they are made by the same parent Chinese parent company just to the specifications laid out by harbor freight or kobalt or husky or whoever.

The factory systems in China are actually quite interesting to look at. Especially on the recycling/reusing and also the "secondary" side of it

The ones you linked are theoretically safer though just in the sense it has the two mechanisms vs the one on the harbor freight.

It is funny though when people get all up in arms over something from harbor freight and talk about how it's all crappy Chinese stuff when they just have brand x that's Chinese too without them realizing it cause they bought it at Napa or Lowe's or wherever.

Been using the grey 6 tons for years now!

I always put either my wheels/tires under the frame or pallets/wood, and also leave the Floor Jack engaged on the IFS skid.

But still, fuck harbor freight and fuck China. I'm taking these back and demanding my money back.

QC. You could have the same jack stand design, used by four different companies where just the sticker and paint changes. The most expensive brand will get the best quality, the middle 2 brands will take the average ones, Harbor Freight will take the rejects. As witnessed by the hot garbage that was the recalled jack stands. They barely had any depth to the teeth. Mold tool was probably shot, but they had a hot pot of metal to pour.

Never go with the lowest bidder on Made In China products. You'll get worse than what you paid for.
